Subject: [NT] Ted

Hello. I am 21 years old college student - I am studying computer science and mathematics. I am mostly interested in computer vision dealing with face recognition, tracking in 3d.

As for Sokker I think I am very experienced - I played this game for 10 seasons (almost 3 years now) and I think it is good time for me to lead NT. During my Sokker career I always was in top 3. I believe my experience could benefit New Zealand in NT games.

I log in few times a day hence I can devote my time for looking up great players and improve tactics. I usually watch polish first league games (I have plus) and Polish cup - but also I was watching some games with NT NZ players such as 11 wise men, Robotnik..
. I don't have preferred tactic - it depends on the players - as for my team my players play the best in attack using wings.

Last season I had won 12 games, lost one and drew once. I also have two NT players so I will do my best for the NT to advance as far as it is possible.

If you think I am the right candidate - please vote. If not, I will try again next season:)

Hey Ted, another Maths guy wanting to be NT coach eh?

I havent seen you commenting around here before, so was wondering how much do you use the community in making decisions and communicating what decisions you make? Also, what examples do you have of the previous answer?

As for watching games with NT players, why do you single out myself and damian as your examples? damian only has 1 NT player in D.Chadwick and although i have 3 myself, only one of them plays regularly. I just think it would be more logical to watch bball's games, and NT games if you wanted to watch NT players (which i assume you do already ;])

Could you also give a couple of examples of where your tactical knack helped you to overcome a superior rated team?

One more, do you think it is better for a team to attack the opponent's weaknesses or play to its own strengths? (this is just to give me an idea of what your mindset is like)

I like posting on the forum - you can see in my own league one that I post a lot. I will be open for any suggestions about finding new players, hints about tactis - I believe there is always something new to learn. Engine is changing from time to time and other changes are implemented hence it's good to listen to other people since it would take long time to find what are characteristics of the new engine after changes. But if I will be chosen to coach NT, I will listen to your opinions but it will be me who will make a decision - sometimes I will have to oppose you guys since every one of us has different views on tactics:DD

oh I mentioned these two teams because you both have NT strikers. I pay the most attention to attack because I like scoring many goals:P (which doesn't mean I don't care about defense) I also watch games of Fiery Tigers but just didnt think of it on the top of my hand

well, both. for example when making tactics for strikers I believe one has to look for weakness in opponents tactics, but when deciding how many strikers, or mids - depeneds on strength of the players. i like choosing the best players available

heh It's pointless to watch Fiery Tigers game :P He uses the same tactic since 2004. So you're saying you prefer to play to your strengths then to the opponents weakness?

yes, meaning I look at what players I have and based on it I create a tactic and then I watch opponent's tactic and modify my own so you could say I do or that I do both

Yeah i agree to play with your strengths first then only move on to see weaknesses in opponent. I find searching for gaps and weaknesses particularly hard though =)

Many managers say they play against opponent's weakness but truthfully, I think it's not true. It takes a lot of time and skill to create a tactic to do is. I have only done it once or twice and because of being too careful I lost that time (cup finals last last last season) When succesful it's really good ;) (NZ bt Germany 3-0)

You do realise that NZ doesn't have that large of a userbase, and as a result, not as many top class players? By sacrificing someone because of a lack of defending ability, you might be sacrificing their expertise in other areas of the pitch such as great Passing/PM or striker.

NZ are currently sitting at 29th best National Team. If you focus on attack all the time you will surely lose a lot. So how well do you know the other areas of play, midfield and defense?

Indeed, I could spent half my day looking at all your matches, or you could give me the time where you think your tactical knack was at its best and i can go back to dominating my mates in games, poker and chatting up girls =]

I think its lucky you added that bit at the end. Kind of a repeat question from above, but how well do you know placement of midfielders and defenders?

But then if a mid has a tragic defending and brilliant passing - it wond do that good if he will get a red card - but if i have two similar player - one with slightly better defense and worse passing and another vice versa then id chose the one with better defense. but if no good midfielders has defending abilities then id just keep midfielders away from my goal so they won't cause any penalties

as for defense - i usually play 4 defenders, the ones on the side helping a winger a little bit, 4 midfielders - 2 wingers and 2 in the middle - they shld be quick and have some defending so they can help out defenders when theres a need - but id have to know skills first. but thats why i mentioined i like players with defense - i like including mids in defense. '
