Subject: »[NT] Cerb (Griever)
Hello NZ managers
My name is Cerb, and i would like to run NT coach.
Who am i?
I'm Cerb, A 25 year old guy from a small town in Belgium. We belgians have a rich footballhistory and its the number 1 sport over here.
Why NZ?
I've been following NZ for several seasons now, It all started with Maqoma running for NZ NT coach, he won and he asked me to buy Matt Gilbert.
He is my star in my team now and i'm very greatfull that he convinced me to buy him. Then Maqoma quit and i stayed here, looking at the forum and interacting with you guys.
Now he contacted Griever and me and asked for us to run for NT coach.
He thinks we are really up for it and who are we to say no to something like that.
Griever would be my Tactical help during this adventure.
I'm not playing favourites. Its not because i have a NT player that he will play all the time. He will only play when he is needed. Nothing more, nothing less
My sokker carreer:
I just finished my 7th season now and i was always in a very difficult group.
That is why i'm not playing any higher in the belgian league.
I once was u21 coach of belgium for a while under Hellsangel.
I gained lots of experience while doing that.
Griever will post his info shortly

Just to be clear, you're running a double campaign and both of you will be potentially responsible for setting tactics for the team?
When i have a little more time, will it be alright if i criticise previous tactics both of you have chosen?
just the starter questions, cheers and good luck!

yes, Griever will be the one who takes care of the tactics, i'll be the one doing the communication and line up. We are both good in tactics and we get help of number 1 tactic god MAQOMA.
Hi,
Little introduction
You guys probably don't know me (yet), i'm Griever, i'm 22 years old, and my team is FC Brussels in sokker. I'm currently in Belgium 2nd division.
I have been playing sokker for 6 seasons now, that would be a little longer then 2 years.
Why and how..
Cerb and me are stepping up for NT-coach of New-Zealand.
We want a new challenge and NZ has good players with potential.
Our good friend and mastermind Maqoma (also old NT-coach of NZ and currently of Belgium) asked us to step up for the task as NT-coach because he thinks we are capable.
He will also be assisting us and giving us advice if necessary.
Me and Cerb are best friends in real life, this makes it a lot easier between us to communicate,
and we want to do this job together because 2 minds are better then one.
Cerb will step up for NT-coach and I would be working "behind the scenes". Basically, the idea would be that i go to cerb's house or he comes to mine during the week, we make the tactic for the match and after that we go drink a beer (ain't life beautifull :) .. )
My experience with a national team?
Well, to be honest, so far I have been trying to get my team on the rails, trying to get the best out of them,
I never was NT-coach of any country, but i have been assisting maq as assisting national team coach of NZ back in the days,
he adviced me to buy Jeff Donoso (a striker of NZ NT) and I trained him for 2 seasons.
Even before that I was attacking scout for the Belgium NT.
In the time I have been playing sokker, I gained a lot of experience by watching matches of the bigger mangers,
and try to implement some interesting things into my own tactics. I really have to say that i learned the most from Maqoma.
To me he is like a sokker god :) And I am sure that with the experience Cerb and I have we can achieve something for the NZ-NT.
Communication
I know this is a very important aspect for a NT. Cerb is online a lot and I think he will do the greater deal of the communication,
because i have to work during the day and he got a computer at his work :) (no i don't have a computer at work *cry*).
Allthough I will do my best to interact as much as I can.
ps.:If anyone has a question, please feel free to contact me with PM or post on the forum :)
High regards,
G

ah that explains all the following around you've been doing with the nz team, good luck mate.
First question, do you want me to change the topic of this thread to somehow include Griever?
Second off, i'm assuming we vote for Cerb if we're going to vote for the both of you ;]
Third off, I know of you both on the international scene and, especially Griever, you are known for your tactical knack to some degree.
After that spiel, an unrelated question. Is Maqoma nudging you the only reason you decided to run for NZ? Or are there reasons other than the nudge or being inspired after following your NT prospect?
Cheers, more to come later =]

first question: that would be good thanks :)
second question: Yes of course. Griever is my assistant
third Q: NO Maqoma only pushed me over the edge. I was thinking of running here for a long time. I always noticed great managers (seca, maqoma) running here, thats why i held on to my idea to run here. When i heard Seca would stop in NZ i thought here's my chance to go for it.

1. thanks :)
3. thanks for the compliment barhilo! Well, to be honest, when maqoma asked me what I would think about stepping up for national team coach of new zealand, i was really excited, for me, it was a splendid idea to give my sokker career a new boost. Also because I trained a NT player of new zealand (donoso) I felt allready a little bit "connected" with your country.

New Zealand has had good managers manage the NT so far. Each manager has made a significant impact on New Zealand.
Maqoma like you said, was great and made the most out of New Zealand with our lousy players and helped New Zealand become the NT team is today. His tactical kncack is always useful in games.
Seca has been an awesome coach providing (maths teacher) lots of analysis on players and his time spent on the nt team is incredible. I know he studies the tactic of the other country and tries to find weaknesses and strengths.
bballmaster2 humbly, has been not that bad either. Not gonna blow his head up so go do some research if u want to know about him.
What i'm saying, there is enormous pressure on the NT coach of New Zealand. All our previous nt coaches have been great! How are you going to deal with the pressure;)? Are you feeling it already?
Also like you to know, we are not the kind of people who will complain and sulk if you lose a game ;) We will support our nt coach whatever the consequence

BBallmaster2 is too humble. :D He's taken the team further then any other. He's clever and resourceful, and I don't mind saying I've learned a few tricks watching his matches. ;)
BBallmaster2 for Prime Minister :)
Are they feeling the pressure already?
Hmm... What are you saying? They are a shoe in?

You are absolutely right. NZ had managers so far who managed to get the best out of a relatively weaker team. Now it will be a hard challenge for us also to get the best out of it. For myself, i'm playing with the weakest team in my serie and i still was able to beat Pauwel (ex national team coach of Belgium) who has some magical defenders from NT (my defs are solid, excellent, the weaker kind..) and other far better players. If we get chosen to be national team coach we will have a good look at all the players and see what our options are with the current strenght of the team. Normally with a little help and advice from Maqoma i'm sure we can do a great job here, because tactics have to be perfect and i'm willing to work on that. I understand that people can get a little frustrated if we lose but, we want to bring offensive play (in how far that is possible of course :) ) But for myself i'm sure that i'm able to handle the pressure. A little pressure is good to get good results, it gets the best out of people :)
If more questions, feel free ..
If more questions, feel free ..
1. Italia (2)
2. Danmark (14)
3. New Zealand (27)
4. Türkiye (45)
5. Malaysia (65)
6. Ecuador (77)
I like this group.
Italy, number 2 in the world. A very difficult opponent
Danmark, with a good tactic, we could win.
Turkey, we should win
Malaysia, time to score lots of goals
Ecuador, the weakest of all the national teams.
keep in mind that with some luck, great form and no injuries, we could win everything. The secret is to be inpredictable.

You will be fighting with Denmark for 2nd place. Denmark is not a weak country. They are very good and their manager is also of a high calibre.
Of all the matches I wish you will allow me to help you against Denmark. I also want you to spend extra time on Denmark and not Italy. ;) Better be careful.
IF you get the NT job that is :P

LoL, Denmark MUST be weak if they have one of your strikers in their side =p
But question time.. You have stated a few times that you will be getting advice from Maqoma. This disconcerts me a little. What can you do to comfort me?
(to make it a little harder, i wont say why it disconcerts me so you can cover all the bases)
