If he said that to me i would've not told them in spite.. No way i would've given it with that attitude.

Better keep it out of this thread though =p

Another question as well. From both of you can i please get a match you played that you feel you tactically outwitted a stronger opponent, and also as a twist, a match where the opposite thing happened.

Cheers!

If u asked me that question both games will be between us :P (nt games not included)

well, neither me or Cerb have been national team coach in the past. The increase in difficulty to make tactics for NT is much higher then for a regular team. Let's say Tactics have to be perfect. Players are much better in a national team. I just want Maqoma to help us a little to adjust to the higher level of a National Team, you don't have to be worried, it's not that Maqoma will do all the work :) In fact, he doesn't have time for that, I know him in real life, we go out together so in that aspect, he can give me advice you know, nothing wrong with that i guess?

to bbal, we can allways use another great manager to support us in the battle of the WC :)

To be honest, it's unlikely we would beat italy, but denmark should be beatable. And 2nd place is actually a MUST.

well, in my previous post, my match against pauwel was nice strategic play. I only adjusted one of my standard tactics. The 2 previous matches i played in a 5-2-3. So Pauwel scouted me and he figured "well, if griever plays with a 5-2-3 it would be useless to play wingers, so he tried to pierce trough the center playing a 5-3-2, I surprised him by playing a 4-3-3. His 2 strikers got a hard time getting by my weaker defense, also my def mid did a great job by running into the gaps and clear all dangerous trough balls. My team doesn't have a lot of passing but I have high technical strikers, even with his great defense i managed to score 2 goals and after the match he said that he was impressed by my tactical surprise :) also due to my current team strength and training (strikers) i have only limited options to make tactics because i have to play with 3 strikers to be able to train all my trainees.

if you look at my last 2 official matches, you will see 2 tactical good matches (thats what i think)

In both of them i lose points but i deserved a win in both of them. Thats what you get when playing teams who are much stronger then you

The qualifying match versus Wiks United is what i think is a very good match. I was champion with 28 points, and he came in 5'th in 2nd division. He had 21 points.
I was underdog in this match because he was the stongest 2nd division team who had to play a quali.
I surprised him with my defensive tactic, he only won after extra time with a nice goal. I would like to think that is my best match so far. although i did not win that match, i learned a lot out of it :)

My worst match tacticly would be the match versus Griever when we were in the same division. He won 6-0, and he deserved the win. a few weeks later i won 3-2

Time to beat about in a closed thread now...

Only just reading sk international now and saw that both of you signed your names on the petition to stop the huge increases/decreases in sponsors and supporters for promotion/relegation, what is your reasoning behind this?
2007-10-21 13:36:29
i think it's not fair that teams who play good a whole season for promotion and lose their match, then they lose 20-25k sponsors and 6-7 weeks loss in supps, i don't think this is fair, it's unrealistic, also players who lose more in 2nd div earn less money then managers who win all the time in 3rd div. what's the point in trying to stay in the 2nd league when there are no advantages? i think they should take a good look at this. for instance:

3rd div: between 70-130k sponsors
2nd div: between 130-200k sponsors
1st div: between 200-280k

just my 2 cent tho..

I am a supp of a team, i don't think i would stop to go see them if they didn't win their qualifying match. no loss in supps is on thing, but why would the sponsors pay you less money? if they want you to get higher, they should give you more money. maybe its only the polish way of thinking, but its not like that in real life. maybe thats why people want a change, they want it to be more real.

I lost my qualifying match versus wiks. I had 28points and i was the champion in my division. The best third division in belgium. Because i'm in a very tough division its always close matches. I became the champion with the lowest amount of points. Therefore i had to play a team that came out of the best second division, that was the team with the highest score (21p) That made it almost impossible for me to promote.

So it wouldn't be logical for the supps and sponsors to bail on me, because i really tried and i already proved myself worthy during the season

Thats what i think :)

Cerb to Cerb
are there any more questions? :)
2007-10-23 17:50:43
What's the size of your shoes?
2007-10-23 18:03:52
any real questions? :D

Basically, the idea would be that i go to cerb's house or he comes to mine during the week, we make the tactic for the match and after that we go drink a beer (ain't life beautifull :) .. )

I am confused. Is it solely Griever who makes the tactic (as inferred in other posts) or a team effort with your input as well? Does this also allow for flexibility when creating a tactic?

I see you have also posted on my guestbook. Some sort of pre-election haranguing? [666]

To your credit, I think I've seen you post here before and you both own NZ NT players (if my skim reading is correct).

Good luck!

I'm not making them solely, we both work on them and correct or improve where needed. It's like writing an article, if you let someone else read it, he will see the mistakes quicker then you will..

Yes we are begging for your vote, down on our knees kissing your feet *kiss kiss* ^^

Cerb is still training a NT-Def indeed, i trained donoso (striker) in the past.

thanks mate! ;-)

Last day of voting before we know the new nt coach... For the people who don't know who they will vote on..I'm sure that Cerb and Griever will do a good job for New Zealand. They have my support and when they win, they can count on my support and tactical advise/help. Take a good choise and vote.

greetings from Belgium
