I commend anyone going to the extent to message users to get people on to Sokker. It has been done before, and the last couple of times I'm sorry to say it but it's like flogging a dead horse.
The game is never going to attract people who turn to Football Manager because this game is a bit like watching 1 episode of 24 every week.
I'm just about ticking over in hope I can somehow help the NT, but all my school is producing is utter dross. I do keep saying I don't know why I log in. Those log ins are getting less frequent...

I beg to differ, quite a few of us did. agreed it's different, but that's what makes football manager worse being able to play 20+ games in a day [not realistic!] or start again or edit transfers, can't do that on here, slow moving = longevity, I stopped playing footy manager cos this is better! people just need to understand this game more, give it more time and they will love it. there is nothing like it still!
At least I am trying!

I think the issue is that games now require financial backing and strong marketing for people to even consider joining. People who see a game that is run and maintained by users and still has an oldschool feel are inclined to right it off as "one of those old games". Having only been here a short time I do still think the old feel and complete difference to other games is what makes it better than any other. The game needs some sort of marketing scheme, whether its funded or put together by the users... some sort of organised plan to attract new users.
Everyone here enjoys the game, so it's guarenteed that some people who stumble upon it are going to enjoy it to.

I still view myself as a "new user", however, it's now been 5 years so I guess I can't claim to be that any longer ;-)
Good but how can we help them stay?
Anyone heard anything from them?
