Im trying to drum up some new users. Sent around 40 texts out today to all my footballing mates and also going to see what I can get from work. It wont affect the NT immediately but hopefully long term.

the thing is that people start the game but when they realise that the players you start with are that poor and you have no money then whats the point, its like the real football leagues in england, all the money and attention is for the top league while the rest go un noticed,i have been stuck in div 3 for 4 seasons i think and it is getting boring, same old teams going up and down and same old ones staying in the same league, people lower than the prem cant compete in transfers as top teams just blow you away with bids all the time which is sad and annoying and very un helpfull.the only way i got promoted from div 4 when i started was coz someone spent silly money on one my poor players, without that id be in div 4 still and prob left the game by now,the only way i can get out this league is if i sell all my players go down to div 4 and start again, where is the fun in that? its about time sokker people took more care and time helping the lower teams rather than only chatting to the top teams, why dont they split it up so you got a prem, div 1 2 3 and 4,div 4 can be all teams without managers and the poor teams in the game, prem obviously the best teams, and for div 1 2 and 3 you work out so the rest the teams go into the league reflecting there teams worth and current standings, there no need to have so many leagues in each division its pointless and is getting ridiculous, also i no there is a rule book on here to help people start but the training graph is so confusing and i bet only the top teams no how to use it,i wanna carry on this game but if i dont get out this league or if something dont change to make it more intresting then i think you will lose lots more users which would be the same.be good for users of top teams to chat to other people lower down in sokker giving them help and also not just chatting amongst yourselfs.if it wasnt for all us in lower leagues then there wouldnt really be a sokker game would there? we make it what it is! and how when i win a game can i have supporters leave lol thats just bad,i depend on that money at end of every season so think that needs sorting out to!! i have a few friends who play sokker and are thinking the same, either make it more fair or everyone will just leave! thanks!!

Hello wazza. There are a couple of valid points sandwiched in your unfounded criticism but you must remember that many of the active "top" managers are extremely helpful when it comes to teams in IV. The way sokker is set up does not help certain things but if you were to ask for help nicely in one of the newbie forums you would get a decent answer within 24 and the offer of any further help or mentoring.

I disagree wazza. Im in div iv and loving the game and just now starting to really get into it. I mail players from the prem and div ii quite often and always recieve a helpful reply.
I see it more as a challenge to get into the prem although im along way off. Surely the way to build your own cash up is to be shrewd in the transfer market by snapping up cheap youngsters, training them and selling them on for a healthy profit. I certainly see this as the way forward for my club.

i agree with what you both say just i think div 4 teams need abit more help starting off as in how much money you get etc.ive tried snapping up youngsters but they go for loads, well ones that will be any good that is.also as weekly income is poor in div 4 and even in div 3 its hard to get coaches in that are going to be good enough to help the players pop,not saying the people are not helpful just mean teams in div 4 and 3 need abit more help money wise than there already is to make it more competitive!

I'd also add that there is a "good" effect to squeeze teams together that does make the top-teams plateau - limitations on fan numbers, cost of better players, slower training speeds etc. Therefore lower league teams do improve faster - it just takes time. For me, at (near!!) the top, it's very very hard to improve now. Nothing can happen overnight..... that's the challenge.

At one time, the top teams in the prem - e.g. mcoi, forest reserves and slackers were quite a distance ahead even of other teams in the Premiership. That gap has come down massively - and now the gap is small even to the top half of the teams in II leagues.

I also would guess that we've had over 50 teams in the Premiership now. Stick with it, and you've got a real chance.

However what I do think, but have been a lone lone voice, is that the 4 tier max 682 team structure we have in England tends to a) kill users who've not logged on for a few weeks whenever we have a recruitment drive, often replacing with users who instantly vanich and b) provides little chance to promote. You can only go from IV to III to II to Prem. I'd LOVE IT if we had a V league that new teams went into - at least then you'd get early buzz of playing lots of new teams.

But there is more chance of my bedding Sandra Bullock than there is of that happening anytime soon, unless we get say 500 extra people wanting to join just at the right time.....

The good old days I say! I think most II teams could at least compete in the prem now. If teams could compete at the top straight away something would definitely be very wrong. Realistically I think you are looking at a min 3-4 years to have a chance of getting to the prem these days.

I'd like the structure to have either 2, or 4 3 level series, with a premiership on top of the series I leagues. If you needed to expand, you could just put another level at the top rather than the bottom. This would work better in slower developing countries than the series IV or V expansions.

I do think that perhaps a change in the joining tier of Series needs to be made. The starting money as far as i am aware has been the same since Sokker began, but definately for 2 and a half years anyway and this is not reflected properly for new starters.

I think they should "unlock" or "earn" their starting money by setting up friendlies and new tactics, and then an additional say £50k-£100k as like a parachute payment in some way after a few seasons.

The gulf was quite large when i joined and it has taken 2 and a half years to get close to challenging in Series II and not many people who joined around the same time have done lots better.

However, as per forestman's comment, i am not an advocate of a new Series. New players want to play against human managers not computers, we have never fully been ready for a V even when near full as so many of those teams were inactive and it would have been a mistake to get a new Series.

Forum spamming isn't working, and all my friends are not clever enough for this game :(

lol loving that statement, they clearly lack class. ;)

I tried to tutor one, who got bored. Anyway, they all have COD: Black Ops (which is really killing my internet) so no hope of any recruiting atm.

i can only see it getting worse too. unless something really drastic happens.
