Great junior so early in the season!
Was he high sub-level Magical? As he looks more like an Unearthly pull.

He is a brilliant pull. How do I know? Well I have had loads of brilliant pulls and the golden rule for pulls is their value range. He has a value of 96k, which if I remember correctly is a brilliant pull. This rule applies regardless of age just to let you know.
I forgot that makes my pull a magical one. Its amazing how skill distribution and age can make the difference between a good pull and a bad one, as much as the level of pull. Take gelder for example my best pull and not my highest. Ive had a 20yr old divine who wasnt as good as gelder.

Value is a good guide but it's thrown out on roundedness and the keeper stat. I've found the amount of skill points given is most accurate.
What is your range for skill points then? I only just reopened my own youth school last season after the changes, and now I'm starting to get some players out that I have no real idea what level they are at..
I have had about 5-10 brilliants with the old system and none of em were worth more than 100k. Gelder was worth 99,750 or something. Being 18 and his skill distribution, that made him almost a perfect pull. Too bad I ruined him with my crappy trainers, while he was at my club for 2 seasons...
Formidable - 40k - 54,999
Outstanding - 55k - 69,999
Incredible - 70k-84,999
Brilliant - 85k-99,999
But yeh magical is 100k-114,999?
Unearthly 115k-129,999?
The divine I got was 130k+ so I am guessing the unearthly range.
As far as age goes a brilliant pull which is 20 will have a better total skill level than one who is 18, but that rarely makes up for the 2 years of training they miss out on; unless ur assistants are crap.
All these values come from taking note of the various pulls I got in the old system, I didnt mess around with anything less than formidable so after that ur guess is as good as mine.

that's a lot of brilliants you've had there. lucky fella !
Yeh I know! At one stage I had em coming out of my ass, and too bad I couldnt train em all and had to sell some... I havent had good pulls in awhile thanks to struggling with the new youth system, but thanks to Jaizes advice I have a string of good pulls coming through over the next 30 weeks.

And what was Jaizes advice? I could do with some decent pulls
Interesting. I can see value being a useful guide, because value is a reflection of skills. However, I think its also a reflection of relative skill levels, skill distribution and age.
I had a look at my old juniors, and about 3/4 worked under your value system. But none of my keeper pulls fitted, and 1/2 of my higher level pulls (Outstanding+) didn't either.
As far as age goes a brilliant pull which is 20 will have a better total skill level than one who is 18
Maybe this statement appears to be true precisely because of the potential flaws of using a value-based system?
I.e. an 18yo is more valuable than an identical 20yo (because he has 2 more years potential training time). So to compare an equally valuable 20yo, you'd actually be comparing a higher level pull, who'd obviously have more skill points...

With the sokker value system, an 18 year old with identicle skills to a 20yr old has a higher sokker value. So a 18yr old equivalent of the pull i got might have a value of 115-120k.
"anything that comes out Very Good or better will probably sell and it is a numbers game anyway you are being too strict. You should work out what your maximum amount of kids can be due to cost and then keep it full because the pops are quite random for the first little while anyway...
I keep mine as close to 30 as possible and just automatically delete weak or below and only keep average if it is a 16 year old. Using this method I had an unearthly a few weeks ago and another due in a couple of weeks too.
Either that or just pull out of the junior league and see what happens..."
Due to the long term nature of youth squads setting up a good youth squad usually takes 2-3 seasons of religiously following this advice, so you have to be patient.
