if your JC is only around v.good/excellent, then a talent of 7 is probably ok too.
2009-02-13 00:56:19
my youth coach, is excellent. Don't think that would bring the best out of my players, but at a -73,000 debt and not making profit every week. Do you think it would be worth buying a better youth coach or perhaps focus the money on buying a new up and comin player. Especially as I am looking to break into Division 3 next season.
nd gd match btw ;) I noticed you played your trainee team.

get a beter JC if you're close to breaking even over a 2 week period - if you're loses are only going to get bigger I'd hold off.

If you make it in to III your sponsorship will go up significantly, upgrade then. - mine jumped from £30-32k to £75-80k

(Thinking back it went to £60k the week I promoted, but has climbed steadily from there)

Its a balancing act, the trainees did ok. I was impressed with your lot though, dominated really. The player took both goals well.

I'm trying to learn from others and from a magnitude of mistakes in the past, it is really beneficial to play the trainees in friendlies, however, if you're going for promoton this season then keep with your capable side each Sunday / Wednesday. Hopefully injuries will not bite you a**e. I'm personally looking to stay in Div IV this season and make an impact next. I'm looking just to hold my league form to a certain level so that the sponsors and fans remain happy.

I now break about even on a fortnightly basis, although I have just forked out £119,000K on a player that I hope to sell in 2 seasons time when I get him trained.

These are my trainees at present...
Junior Skill level Weeks
John Mohun outstanding 2
Ivan Abell outstanding 3
Antony Brearton good 5
Daniel Mutter formidable 5
Gerry Rew formidable 5
Mick Sumant formidable 5
Leo Copsey formidable 6
Viv Bowmer excellent 8
Chopper Lyford adequate 9
Leroy Gerry formidable 12
Chris Ingle excellent 14
Stan Hackers adequate 16
Mahmood Reeman solid 16
Romeo Hawkins adequate 28

Hopefully one of this guys will produce some talent that will financially strengthen my club, fingers crossed.

These forums are really useful and most of the users are fantastically quick and helpful with their experiences and advice.

That is a awesome set of youth players you have there.
2009-02-13 02:08:25
impressive youngsters, but hw do u manage 2 break even, with so many youth trainees and with the mere 30,000 u make in division 4.
2009-02-13 02:12:14
i don't even break even, i invested a lot into my youth school. which is rubbish atm

I have sacked all my assistant coaches and replaced them with either solid / very good tech which I'm training now, all 3 coaches wages combined is less than 2k. I have ditched my HC by 2 levels but saving me over 10k a week.

Increased my stadium to 8500 which gives me just over £30k, sponsors pay around the £30k also. My whole wage bill is just under £30k. The YT set up costs 12k a week (20 places), this cost is off-set by either a full house every other week or the sponsor money.

Obviously I earn extra money for supporters joining (minimal but it all helps) plus any home friendly in the friendly league I've set up would bring in vital cash also.

This scenario has taken me 18 months or so to master (master may be too strong, lol), fine tune as such. It's great to have unearthly coaches costing 3-4k per week minimum but in Div IV its not viable unless you have just 1. I obtain more frequent side pops with 3 assistants that are poorly paid (i.e. £555 p/w) than i did with 2 unearthly tech coaches costing just over £6k p/w.

I suppose what I'm saying is that it will take time to build a club that eventually can operate financially by itself. The odd quality youth player would speed up the process though.

Leroy Gerry looks promising - what are expecting him to promote as?
2009-02-13 10:05:18
Brilliant +2, popping every 4 weeks with an excellent YC. Could be quite talented if distribution is kind.

I made a huge mistake by sacking my incredible YC due to relegation thus finances. Leroy may have got to Magical, he was poipping at a rate of 3.5.

I may have been able to get a few more pops other youth products too.

He is pretty close to max talent that guy, i fab prospect. My fingers and toes are all crossed for you at promotion!

romeo hawkins is my player gavin hawkis's brother, he reminds me of him aswell in terms of time left and skill level.
2009-02-13 13:42:21
DJ's spot on.

With that kind of talent and those coaches I doubt even the distribution could be that bad. It's being raped by the age fairy you've got to watch out for... ;)

You have enough juniors coming through there, to see you straight for a while :p even enough to keep a couple yourself. unless you want to keep them all that is.
2009-02-13 16:33:54
I'd be tempted to start pace training as soon as he hits the 6th decent trainee.
