junior coaches estimate the player levels. it gets better the more games that are played and the higher the level of the coach, so with low skill coaches and players with few / no games you can get big changes in perceived skill. The actual skill is different and slowly increasing....

Ah. So the "weak" guys I've been sacking actually might have been better than that?

Possibly, but if their starting age was not 16 then it was still the right choice.

Absolutely not definitely at all. He could easily be very untalented and not make a very high skill.

I have a 17 yr old junior currently rated at "Very good" due in "1 week". I've not had one so "high", but my question is quite simple. Is he still likely to be a load of rubbish? So that I don't get my hopes up too high. Thanks.

Funnily enough, I have my first 2 16's due this week too, both of those are rated as "Good".
