This is Bamford now, on the way to incredible pace. When he first came out he had excellent pace, solid defender and I think adequate PM. So he was very similar to Cureton, and as I say with him being unearthly he surely must have had low 3 talent?

Niall Bamford, age: 18, height: 178 cm
value: 136 050 £, wage: 1 050 £
club: Thamesmead Town FC, country: England
excellent form, excellent tactical discipline

poor stamina, hopeless keeper
outstanding pace, very good defender
adequate technique, solid playmaker
very good passing, unsatisfactory striker

Wow, what an amazing player. Well done. You must be training him 98% or more, right. Great future prospect. I wish I had a team full of players that age and similar skills level! Every Thursday would be superb with their improvements!

Cureton will be a "higher level" player if trained as defender. 5 skills off Bamford.

I don't know the general level of CMs in England / in this age category. For u21 he would probably be more useful as MID, for main NT as DEF. It can be done well for both, you have to start with some PM anyway...

Thanks :)
To add context I looked up Bamford when he was first pulled and these were his skills. They were very similar to your player but obviously a year younger and didn't get the level of stamina and keeper you got.

Niall Bamford, age: 17, height: 178 cm
value: 64 800 £, wage: 870 £
club: Thamesmead Town FC, country: England
very good form, tragic tactical discipline

hopeless stamina, hopeless keeper
very good pace, solid defender
average technique, weak playmaker
very good passing, hopeless striker

Colin Cureton, age: 18

value : 99 300 £
wage: 1 200 £
very good [9] form
tragic [0] tactical discipline
height: 182 cm, weight: 75.1 kg, BMI: 22.67

good [7] stamina weak [4] keeper
excellent [10] pace very good [9] defender
solid [8] technique weak [4] playmaker
solid [8] passing weak [4] striker

Your guy has better technique than Bamford did but the extra season of training really has helped given Bamford's talent.

I'm with Borkos, he's a defender.
2025-12-04 16:46:16
Thanks Borkos. I was thinking give him some training in pace as the season is almost over, then next season switch to PM! I guess Camus can guide with what positions the U21 will be scarce in!

I haven't planned that far ahead yet but at the moment we've got a defender problem for next season. Honestly I wouldn't bother with PM, certainly not for long anyway. General pops will sort that out. I'd focus on Pace and Defending.

I just hate low pm players, but yeah, for u21 it might make more sense to start with ensuring a high level of pace/def first, playmaker should get to 8+ anyway from general training I guess

Cool. Thanks guys. I'll take your advice. Im training my PMs in pace at the moment so he can slot in nicely. Hopefully, he does a lot of random popping too!

Reg Lewis might be the worst youth pull I've ever seen.
2025-12-04 18:21:28
Are you keeping him?
2025-12-04 19:09:36
