I would love 10 trainees the same as him! He’s very talented too.

@nothis the pops should come quickly, I just want to avoid injuries and I’m hoping his form rises soon.

I love that you do this. I'm on 8 at the moment, but hopefully will be the full 10 in a couple of months.

Longer term aim is to get most of the first team as own youth. Currently of the first XI, 4 are own youths. There's currently 3 players close to first team standard.

I know truffs is doing similar and certainly ahead of me on own youths in the first team.

I have none of my own youths close, I have 3 that are English and not far away but I bought them. Rice (GK), Davis (DF) and Barnes (Str).

The ones that are mine are only 19 still. They play a lot of cup and league matches still for training though......so kind of getting first team minutes.

Well at least you're not top of the league for something ;)

That said, the three players you mention are all very good trainees, not your average player. Plus getting into your first team would take some doing!

I can get away with it all my level ;)

Yes they are really nice players, Rice the GK was a bargain really at £150,000.

They are maybe another season away from first team so not too far away.

It would be easier at a lower level to play them and get training, but I get the better finances higher up, and also it is quite fun juggling my team about to try and get full training whilst still being competitive in the cup and league :)

GKs even ones at the peak of their powers don't really fetch a great deal of money. One of the flaws with the new training system is that them literally only needing 3 skills, it's easy to get them to a fairly decent standard even without top talent.
2026-02-20 18:39:31
Yeah and passing is kind of luxury skill, high GK and highish pace are kind of enough for most people
2026-02-20 18:55:45
I can't remember how it used to be when I was in the game before, but I don't remember it being as broken as it is now. What changed?
2026-02-20 19:09:41
before you could only train 1 formation, so basically when you trained GKs you could only train 2 of them at same time and almost nobody did that

and if you trained other formations you couldn't train GKs so there were fewer of them

now basically everyone can train 9 defs/mids/atts and 1 gk for himself as an extra

I only paid £150k so I can’t do wrong there really. He’s on the way to unearthly GK already and has good talent so his pace will rise quickly.
