Subject: »Future MID England
I am thinking of changing and I would like if I can to train English players, I make no bones about my preferred choice for trainees. :)
As a former U21 England Manager and Current NT it would look bad to be anything else wouldn't it?
Anyway how much do you think they are worth, I may not be able to afford mid training anyway as they sell so highly.

I think you might be right about not being able to afford MID trainees. The transfer compare tool rates Raine as 48.0 as a MID. Here are the prices of the 18 year old players rated higher.
Rating 49.0 Week 14 Price 2.3 million.
Rating 49.3 Week 2 Price 4.59 million.
Rating 49.3 Week 11 Price 4.79 million.
Rating 50.8 Week 10 Price 3.59 million.
Slightly worse 18 yo midfielders were selling in mid-season for between 2 and 3.5 million, with one player getting a bargain at 1.5 million.
Now there was me thinking that a full NT potential midfielder wouldn't go for much more than 4 million at 25 !

Before the last couple of seasons I would have disagreed with you, but doing the u21 job gives you an insight into what to look for and where England needs to improve. A really good winger would be great for example :). Although realistically I haven't been able to afford English u21s when they've come up on the market.
