Right, this isn't good enough. Where are all the candidates for England NT ?

On that basis, you've all left me no option but to stand for election. A couple of seasons with me in charge - that'll teach you !

So why vote for me ?

Errr, well, I'm nice ? Well, I think so anyway. Oh, and...

- I was a finalist in the FA cup in the early 18th century.

- I was in the Premiership for a season in the late 18th century.

- I got England to the quarter-finals of the World Cup more recently.

- I once got 1 vote when standing for NT in Australia, running a campaign that offered everyone that voted for me a genuine Norwich City labelled pen. More importantly, I helped an actual Australian to win the election and thus end the reign of the corrupt and uber-weak King Borkos of Poland.

- I actually won my premiership play-off yesterday, but there's been some kind of mix up. 3 of my opponents goals were offside, you see - but seem to have been counted. Most odd. Anyway, if you all vote for me, maybe I can get some kind of recount sorted out once I'm NT.

Oh, and vote for me because I know what the english public wants from its national team - An excuse to drink beer in public, and a gallant defeat in the semi-finals / quarter - finals / qualifying round to the Germans / Portugese / Croatians.

Yes ! Yes, I have ! But an election thread is no such place for these things. An election thread is a place for insults, drunken rantings, and machievellian maneuvering.

I thought I'd share my experience of election contests, if I'd voted for me I would have won...

What tactically do you feel has gone wrong recently and what can you do to put things right?

I think the season just passed has gone well for me - undefeated in the league, and with the 3rd best average marks in the league. Watching the play-off back that I won, I noticed that kippers' forward Von, who was offside for 3 of his goals, was well placed to take advantage of the space between my central defender and the next player up in my back 5, and with hindsight I would have played my middle 3 a bit tighter. I think his midfielders would have had some success in that game regardless.

I see there have been no serious candidates for the full NT yet! You're in the lead though for having a better speech than dullanos.

It's been quite a while since we had serious candidates - English people don't really want to win things, they want to believe that they are the best, but don't really want to put the work in. If they did, Phil would still be English NT.

Although, if and when DJ beats me due to an assist from him, his nickname will no doubt be c). Blunsdens nickname was c) last night, after all...

2 seasons ago your NT campaign was somewhat controversial. What would you say to those who have you in a negative light as a result of that.
