Subject: [NT] WCQ Vs Poland

Some interesting team selections, I assume that there are some huge issues on suspensions or I have no clue how players like Western couldn't make it into central midfield. A couple of the defenders looks to be pretty low on secondaries too, thats never really been my style as I think it can create more defensive problems as they give the ball away cheaply.

Apart from that, the tactics looked fairly solid. I would have used a tighter midfield three (rather than one DM and two higher mids) & perhaps two strikers personally. No huge issues though, largely we were just beaten by better opposition players.

The wingbacks did seem to lack pm.

Seriously though Cutting is in form but Injured, Hagan only in Weak form (again). Poland have numerous Triple Divine and Superdivine strikers to call on. Form at that level is extremely important and makes a huge difference. Had Hagan been in form and Cutting been available we could have done some amazing things I think. :p

I believe there were issues there. I have a fantastic tool that I will be providing jpk with though to help him.

Why would we chose to play Parker & Hagan when there form is so low though?

Surely there were better options, Western in midfield or Pledger upfront?

I have no idea there. I assume he lacked updates maybe?

@ wdp74

For once I do agree ...it's probably what cost me my qualifier.

I have a 44pt striker who's form has hit the basement - his match ratings have dropped from around 70 to the low to mid 60's - and he scored 1 from 11 (good) chances against a nothing special keeper when I lost my qualifier.

Agreed, thats why at NT level your number 1 priority should always to ensure your team is in form, even if that means dropping better players on paper.
2010-04-17 13:44:01
Only for once? lol

Form is a major issue, if and when Flowers rises in form then he could give use options with his Superdivine Tech he could cause some major issues coming on as a sub. Unfortunately he has been stuck near the lower end for over a season now.

44? My best is a 25pt :( (at least he's in superdivine form)
2010-04-17 13:51:47
I actually have 2 of them, but the other is in form(ish). They're probably overkill for III, but in II most teams are around this level or better!

The reason for Hagan and others playing in lower form is due to injuries and a lack of updates on players. In hindsight maybe I could have chosen other players in other positions, but if they are not updated on the database and no updates have been sent to me directly what can I do? I am n ot going to select players on ratings alone. I am at work atm so I have been unable to watch the game yet, I will do that when I get home at half 6ish.

In regards to the defs with lower secondaries, this was done on purpose for one major reason. I wanted to have defs with max pace and def mainly, this worked well for me against top teams during my last stint in charge. Against every other team we will face I will play defs with alot better secondaries. It has been hard trying to scout defs for the NT, alot of players are not updated enough.

Also Poland had a average rating of 80.8, nearly 10 points better on average than us, just proves that they have the best players available to them.

good performance by england in m opinion, we controled the start of the game, but their overall quality shined through.

nice game! supprisingly poor stats you got there (i assume its about lack of time to do decent DB or what?). Dexter did nice agains superdivine def, utrata could also not stop him few times...

anyway untill cebała red-card i hoped for 10+ goals:0 than more passes came directly to winger and it became worse..

Ps
our percentage seized opportunities was really poor

I'm surprised Dexter didn't get sent off. He usually does. That or get injured.
