Right I've sent out the first draft copy. Will check with the 5 guys its sent to before i send anymore.

So far it doesnt take into account injuries or substitutions. The latter will be easy to fix the injuries might not.

I think your opponents affect the rating, since normally I have a good shooting, but yesterday and game with Pb. U., my team's shooting level down to adequate as two teams defense were a solid defending level.

I did a test on my last game for defending. Formula was:

(Defending skill (in numbers)/100)*percent played = contribution

Then totalled up the contributions and got 9.15, which was the very good rating I got in the match.

Going to test a few more, I suspect passing would be using both off and def and dividing by 2.

Done the striker one, and it came out as average, so the theory on strikers might not be right.

Edit: Changed the striker one to be based ONLY on those set as mid or ATT and the number came out as 7.01, which was the good rating I got in the match.

I have similair calculations in my spreadsheet. Passing and scoring based on att %, defending done on def %.

They work for players with above solid stamina and in matches with no subs or injuries.

I suspect stamina is going to be a factor. It didn't seem to matter though for my game even though some of them were below solid stamina, as their time on the pitch was not the full game.

But in answer to the first question, it looks like defending rating is based on the weighted mean of your defensive plays and scoring rating is based on the weighted mean of your attacking plays.

weighted mean = (dependant on time played / stamina / %played)

All of my outfielders have solid defending or better.

1 solid
2 very good
3 excellent
2 outstanding
2 incredible

but the highest defence rating I have achieved is solid.

My stamina is quite low though (average is adequate), so I am very interested to see exactly what will happen to my defence ratings once I increase my first team's average stamina to about very good / excellent next season.

Okay, about your last weeks match, 14-01:

What's the level of defending of Severin, Radziszewski, Kolangian and Urban? The 4 of them together did 76% of all the defensive actions of your team.

To calculate your defense rating, multiply the level of defense of all your players by the percentage of defending they did during the match and divide the total by 100%.

In our last NT match, Poland played with 11 divine defenders and got unearthly defensive mark

There is little point playing with 11, ten would do. The keeper adds nothing to defence ratings.
