Subject: [U21] World Cup vs Chile

Tomorrow we face Chile who like us have already qualified for the next round. They are a bigger nation than us and are ranked higher than us so we will be underdogs for this match.

However having said that we have so far been very impressive in despatching Croatia and Denmark. I have 2 or 3 players a yellow card away from missing a match and I could rest them. However the side who wins the group will play a team who finishes 2nd in another group so therefore I feel it probably best to go for it as I usually do and hope that we do not lose all 3 players for the next rounds match. Deoth is not our strong point, having Skeffington back next week will help us hopefully.

I am fairly ceratin of the tactic Chile will play and I feel the tactic I will take into this game will cause them problems.

Yes but it is not too late here as we are 1 hr behind the SK clock. :)

Hmmmm I just saw that....oh bugger it. No I shall watch it in the morning. Maybe the +648 is wrong and it will start on time......theres only a few matches tonight, how can there be than much problem.

No idea, seen a fair few other matches have played so you could be lucky.

Ah, I see I was thinking Chile's match times were the same as ours. The +648 makes up for that and more. :P

lost 1-0 but very very unlucky to lose, 2nd half performance was top draw and we had several very good chances saved or just go over or wide.

We were pretty unlucky I reckon.

Only small area of concern was the number of crosses that went to Plumby, our midfielder, rather than strikers. Its probably best to keep him a little further back to avoid this.

Agreed. Took a very good finish to win the match though, and apart from a couple of chances later on in the game chile didnt really threaten that much imo.

I dont think you should be disappointed mate, it was a good performance, you were just unlucky, these things happen and you had already done the hard bit by qualifying from a very tough group.
