6-2 victory. lost DM to 2 yellows for two tackles in 7 minutes which was a worry as normally a pivotal position for me. Scored a flukey 37min Paulo DiCanion type goal to ease my worries :)

His keeper got horrifically injured and replaced with a rubbish 40yo :)

He has been been very lucky in a fair few matches.

Take his win against me as an Example

Actually, looking at match stats over the season, he has done no better than me (shots for/against) and I'm not exactly setting the league on fire!

Heh, nice one :) i thought he'd given up which is why i was shocked. He certainly is no pushover.

If anyone wants to see stupidity at its worst - my match - 80-81st minute. Striker clean through, pulls it 40 yards back to my defmid who pulls it back to my defender who boots it out of play. What mental institute did I get these guys from?

Just watched it, certainly not as bad as you are making out. He wasn't clean through, there were 3 covering defenders. It happens with players not so skilled, and imo, should happen else what would be the point in a divine playmaker player for example?

He was through, it was a joke, and I've seen it done before with an excellent playmaker, many times. (SO I sacked him)

Also, I bought a guy with excellent passing and solid pm, and I have seen only a few good passes. 50% of them are just booted out over the goal line. I bought him because the previous guys were doing that, and he just hits it harder.

At the lowest level, pace & tech are you route to lots of chances.

Five were playing today with v.good+ tech. How much tech do I need to not be tackled from behind by BOTS!

I know, but next season I sense I will lose the first game against my only rival and win the second. I need to know my players can actually play :)

How much tech do I need to not be tackled from behind by BOTS! ...depends entirely how good their defender skill is.

I'd say you want your MIDs to have tech at least 2 or 3 levels above a defender's defensive skill to expect to ride more challenges than get tackled in.

Also, if it's any consolation, my worst MID is formidable/formidable (passing/PM) - yet him and the rest of my MIDs regularly make dumb-ass decisions like not playing the obvious pass, playing another player into trouble, or just booting the ball out when there were better options.

I think you're being a little optimistic in the difference a few levels make to decision making.

On balance it is fair to say my luck was dire last season. So getting some this season balances it out.

You have used it up with NTs instead of club.

i had a solid passing/playmaking playmaker make the absolute perfect backpass today, between my 2 defenders iit was perfection.
