i've had a think, and i've decided that i'd like to stand for the u21 job :) i'm not too sure what to write, but i'll answer the questions put up :) lol
ok, so i've played sokker for almost 4 years now and worked my way up to II a couple seasons back. in my two seasons i've come 2nd and 3rd, so i haven't done too badly even if it is the weakest of the II's. this is the first time i've ran in an election in England (once ran for the south african job when i first started and obviously lost :p)
i think that i'm decent with tactics, and can play a variety depending on the opponent, and players available as well.
i'm always on this, at least a couple times a day normally, so i have enough free time to scout players, and make the tactics for the matches. i'll make sure that communication with everyone else is good as well, making threads on the forums so people could give feedback on the game and tactics, banter, and if i'm elected the odd tomkellz out post :p
as an aim for the u21 team, qualification from the group would be the obvious aim as well as getting the u20's ready for the world cup with friendlies, and to then do well at the world cup, and whether it's a bit too optmistic, i'd like to win it lol :D
thanks tom :)

A vote for the Tits Manager has to be a strong consideration.
A question for you sir. I have been following a discussion on the effectiveness of wingers, high wingers and attacking mids. As you have "played a wide variety" of tactics what are your thoughts on the subject.
And can you post a link to a match where you have tried each of them?
Best Wishes,
Truffs

thanks for taking an interest and asking a question Truffs :)
firstly i'm not 100% sure on how to do a link to a match, where do i find the matches ID?
i like wingers, and find that they work nicely. a lot of headers can be scored off them, and a good winger can often provide a few assists :) i use a winger quite often in my club games like in my last league game against Wideboys. i like playing them quite high, and wide to get in space and in behind the opponents defence :)
an attacking mid is something i've thought about lately, but i'm not sure if there's a player that would be good enough at u21 level. for this i think the player would need to be very rounded in all skills, and at u21 level i don't think we'd have a mid who is high enough in striker as well as being very good in tech, passing etc.
however it's something i'd experiment with in friendlies given the right player :)

go to your match report, click on your team lineup. Right click the page. Somewhere on there will be an option (browser depending), properties, or frame info, which will tell you the page.
Copy and paste the URL, with the usual URL tag.

wdp has generally been a fan favourite for the majority of the users in England. How would you look to establish yourself in such a manner?
it will be difficult to be as popular as wdp has been, but i think i could win the majority of users over. firstly there's making sure we win games, as users will want to see England do well.
i'd also try to communicate as much as possible with users, and get them involved. creating the match threads to keep everyone up to date on the games, and asking for feedback trying to get as many users as possible interested in the u21 side. i'd also try and push on what wdp has started by trying to get more people to train English trainees, therefore hopefully getting more users involved by having players that are in or could be in the u21 team :)

The tactic seemed good to me but alas I am no expert but still a worthy answer.
WDP is not just popular, he is a good manager, writes wisely and fairly. He also seems to have a bit of a leadership air about him (wonder what he does for a living!). Thats a tougth act to follow, let alone improve upon.
What would you do differently to WDP and is there any personal traits you have that would be good for us as our manager, our man manger of our trainees and protector of our future NT players?

i think that all the main ideas are already in place such as the "academy" teams, trying to find our best English talent an English club to train them. we already have a few clubs doing this, myself included, but i would try to encourage as many users as possible to do it.
this can be difficult for various reasons, such as lack of funds or better foreign trainees, but even getting people to have 1 or 2 English trainees more than previous would help. the advantages to it are that the players are then easier to follow and get updates on, and then there's a better chance that they will be getting the training they need.
i believe that i could bring a lot to the u21 team as manager. the main thing i can bring is my commitment to England. i already train str's for England, i have 5 English trainees who are or have the potential of playing for the u21 side. i also do the future Att thread and keep it up to date with all players known to me. becoming u21 manager would just mean that i broaden the updates to finding players for the other positions as well, which i have the time for.
it's only a small thing but i also check that the line-ups and orders are all set way in advance of games, and check again a few times as to avoid mistakes that could cost us :)

Some good stuff there too. You talk a lot of sense how come you have so much time on your hands?
I suppose I see the U21 role as more important in a nuturing way and requires dedication and a safe pair of hands. Norwich City is running for under 21 too and I believe (despite my rougth questioning of him) that he is a very strong manager and would do well. Its a difficult choice for me to make. So...
Have you ever played him and if so who won?
If he was to beat you to the job what would you put your failure down to?
If you beat him to the job what would you put your success down to?

Without meaning to butt in, coming second in an election shouldn't be considered a failure.
The way Truffs questions are put to both candidates I can see he is very very good at
*Observation and Analysis based on observation.
*Polite in addressing the candidates though he does ask the important questions any voter (one who thinks about his vote and Englands success in sokker) would want to know.
*Address key issues relative to the candidate, team and future training of talented England juniors.
Very impressive. Thanks Truffs.

thanks, don't get me wrong i have a life :p but i've finished college now so have quite a bit of time, although even when i go back in sep i'll still be able to do the job to my best :D
i've never played him competitively, i played a friendly against him this season which i won 10-2, but i wouldn't take much from that.
if i lost the election then i would put it down to ncn having more experience having played for longer than me.
if i won the election then i would think that people like what my plans for the u21 side are, and that they think i can do a good job at helping develop our English trainees further and to get some good results to help us qualify for the world cup :)

What's with everyone being nice to each other? This is an election!
