Hi all
Putting myself forward again, as there's an election, and they are good fun.
I fully expect to be accused of corrupting the election system, of dragging U21 England back 50 years with my ineptitude, and of making a laughing stock of the whole process.
I nearly won my league last season though, with only the 5th strongest team in the league.
Edit :
Looking at the rankings, I see that England are currently 11th. Is it possible to get into the top 8 over the next two seasons, to become a top seed for the next qualifiers in 2 seasons time ? This should be the target for any aspiring U21 manager. Also, getting to the World Cup quarter-finals should be the minimum requirement, as we are trying to become a top 8 team.
Scouting is essential for the U21, more so than for the NT, finding a decent extra player at a young age can make a lot more difference than to the NT. I will be looking for anyone who is interested to assume scouting roles for Def, Mid, and Att positions.
I don't currently know what the current crop of 20 year olds looks like, but it's safe to say that strikers are a key component of any decent U21 team. We have historically been poor in this department, and this may have an impact on how I would set up for some games, e.g. I may have to park the bus against better teams to get results on some occasions.

just to clarify; dognut is a good manager but a bit of a nob, therefore it would be win-win for my enjoyment factor. if he wins games then the NT does well, and if he loses games i get to take the p*** out of him. love it.
actually, same goes for you re being a good manager and taking the p***, its just that you wont get nearly as riled by the heckling so it wont be as much fun
;-)

Well we know you can crack a joke and cetainly perform well on the self depreciating humour stakes but can you show me a match where you have beaten a much better team than yourself recently?
Also you always seem to have a good squad (which is a sign of a good manager ) but how would you deal with flawed under 21 players?
Finally I am giving you the same questions as put to the Tits Manager recently can you show me some matches where you played a radically different formation?
Sorry One more Q. Reading through the match reports over this season and last it seems that you have made a fair few "errors" (not sure that word is fair but cannot think of a more suitable one, perhaps inconsistences). How would you try to avoid dropping ranking points due to these inconsistences in your sokker game when the whole community is watching?

I have picked 3 20 year olds in my first team pretty much throughout the season, so I'm used to making allowances for the gaps in their abilities.

I can't - I usually stick to what works and make minor changes to exploit opponents weaknesses.

The second part of your question answers the first. :). As for errors, I only remember one, and that was not buying / picking a goalie before a match against a bot. I ran out of time before a long weekend in London, and couldn't get internet access as I was charging around like a loon between Waterloo (for the gig) and City airport (hotel) - guilty as charged for having a life, although it was a They Might Be Giants gig, so arguably a very geeky life.

Thanks for the prompt reply sir!
Is the fact the whole community is watching really going to work? You have the passion about Norwich (and about certain types of Liverpool supporters) but are you a winner at heart? And how are these faceless sokker players going to make you triple check your tactics and players when you have a life and are guilty as charged about it.
I certainly am not against a life away from the screen, heck all I do is work and spend "quality" time on the sofa with the better half while watching naff telly, however if I was England manager I might face the wrath and possible denial of service attack as I rush to the computer just to check everything one last time.
England manager might be a more suitable role for you as you can work with the final product. I suppose I see the U21 role as more important in nuturing way and requires dedication and a safe pair of hands. True/False?
Any reply to my musings while I go off and ask some more awkward questions of the Tits Manager?

would my vote mean a lot to you?
and are you going on saturday?

It did last time, when I was England manager. In fact, triple checking my tactics caused me to lose the match against Croatia, as I ripped it all up and started again on the triple-check :). I've learnt to appreciate "leaving it alone" when you know it works since then.

I've won more on here than the other candidates.

I see myself as equally dedicated as any of the other candidates. We have been spoilt by wdps' dedication to be fair.

Your vote is as important as everyone elses, use it to pick the best candidate.
Going where ?
Going where ?
We have excellent candidates and I have a tough choice to make.. Thanks Truffs for the Serious Interrogation (lol).

PMSL :) i'm close to standing, but it's still hot outside, and this having-a-life mallarky that ncn talks about is quite nice really.

Do you still believe in the divine right of an England quarter final appearance to be knocked out on penalties?
Absolutely - in fact as 11th best team in the World, it is aspirational to get to the quarter-finals, and getting knocked out on penalties would be a heroic achievement. Although if we were to somehow over-achieve, then that would be ok too :).
Here is the qualifying group as pinched from toms' thread.
1. England U21 (13th)
2. Schweiz U21 (26th)
3. USA U21 (38th)
4. Moldova U21 0 0 0 0 0-0 0
5. Việt Nam U21 0 0 0 0 0-0 0
6. Lëtzebuerg U21 0 0 0 0 0-0 0
Although the ratings are mainly based on this seasons games and there will be a new intake obviously, I see no reason why we shouldn't qualify from this group in 1st place.
