i predicted correctly! and a great performance from woods!! saved your ass a few times!

good performance on the whole, although a few times i thought the our throw-in positions were a bit dodgy

Watching the match first, I thought that China were a bit of a weak side before I checked out their rating compared to ours.

China 47.4 vs 49 England - full report here

They matched us on defending, passing and shooting apparently too, and had more of the play in the half for both halves.

The red card to their central defender helped, as it allowed Slater to glide into the space for the third goal. Both Slater and Hollis had weak form (but are easily our best strikers, which is a worry), but both scored a goal.

I was disappointed with the penalty given away, and obviously with the red card in the last minute. Could be stamina causing problems there.

As for the tactic, well, I have a bit of a confession to make. That was wdps' tactic.

a) It worked well against Scotland
b) I don't want to give any tweaks away to qualifying opponents

So you can apologise to wdp when you see him Mr Parkinson :)...

lol, im sure he would agree that the throw-ins didn't work 2 well in that game! maybe he had set them up that way after watching an opponents defending of the throw-ins. I didn't think it was as evenly matched as the stats suggest, we dominated for most of the game imo.

How do you pronounce China´s U21 manager name?

Bread.

decent win, and a goal for Slater :D

With Slater and Hollis in form, I would really fancy our chances next season. Unfortunately, they both have weak form, which is why they only got a bit of the game each today.

I thought my Def trainee would make it... looks like being 2 levels higher in pace is not as important as def being 1 level down :(
2010-08-20 23:36:43
make that +4 levels higher in pace requirement
2010-08-21 00:04:46
How are his other skills(pass/tech/pm/stam)?

I'll post you my def who missed out(sub) for an example.

I was just sort of blaming myself for concentrating on his pace training too much instead of defense. It actually takes more time to get the pace up I notice...

poor technique = can't trap a bag of wet cement. couple of levels up in defender, few in tech, and he could be viable for next season though, form permitting.

Toby Haylock is my idol, and that is the end of it!
