Great tactics Gibbage, in the end I think our passing won us the game. Galvin looked pretty good, as did Devlin and Tillbrant as well.

blew em away first half , great stuff, tactics worked well and apart from goal conceded never looked in danger , what a difference Bridge makes in that dept.
well done , a nice solid start

3-1 it finishes. Overall, I was pretty impressed with the way my tweaks to the treehouse tactic worked. It did help them playing the tactic I was expecting, most of the positions were pretty much spot on and the counter attacking which was most of what happened worked well.

Bit unfortunate they scored, other than that, they never once got anywhere near the goal. Had Bevan played, I would expect we would have had a couple more.

1. P. Hann
Conceded 1, but other than that did little else, nothing bad anyway.
2. N. Close
Looked useful.
3. T. Henchoz
Completely cancelled out the Bogan.
(70' M. Harper)
No real impression.
4. M. Malhan
Did relatively little throughout the game, but solid enough.
5. C. Bridge
Could have held the ball better (and I would have expected him to), although he did run back from fair distances to stop a mess before it happened.
6. R. Devlin
Fairly poor, didn't cut it defensively and was outpaced often.
7. M. Tillbrant
Deadly. His long range through balls worked a treat. Didn't look as good in the 2nd half though.
8. B. Hulka
As above really.
9. T. Lineker
Caused a lot of trouble, although had a golden opportunity to score, but decided to pass.
(70' S. May)
Looked assured in the role. Shame his neat pass to Adrain didn't lead to a goal.
10. O. Galvin
Made full use of the through balls, blowing their defence away with his pace.
11. G. Melchiot
Scored, but nothing special.
(70' A. Marlet)
Missed a golden opportunity, other than that did very little.

Other result from the group:

South Africa 1-2 Canada

SA now looking pretty handy with their new manager. Certainly won't be pasting them like the last 2 times.

I think a draw next week *should* be enough to qualify, and a win definitely will be enough.

Nicely done mr_g. Good to see Scotty May getting another cap.

There's only one Georgie Melchiot.

If you qualify after two games, do I get to pickthe team for the 3rd ?

no

As I said previously, USA defense is too deep and allow a huge space btw mids and defs. If we use that weak point, the score would be great. But, good game! nice work!

Next match against Canada might be played at a different time to normal, due to the new match changes. Will have to set everything up on Friday.
