that is evil... lucky i have a home match this week... my habit of setting lines last minute may be caught out if i'm not on the ball :S
Team all set. I think the SA - USA game will be played before ours, I still have no idea what time it will be played, but I suspect around 4-5pm sokker time.
A win would see us more or less mathematically qualify. If the USA and SA draw, and we win, then we'd certainly be in the knockout stages.
Squad status
Relatively injury free now. Ben Hulka is currently the only injured player.

Let me pick the team for the 3rd game, g'wan !!!!

Why are you so obsessed with picking the team?
If we have mathematically qualified, I might let you. But it would have to be a serious pick, not just "put all my players in the England team".

To prove that democracy works :).
And anyway, all my players are foreign. apart from the youngsters.
Seriously though, it would be cool to try some of the up-and-coming players in the 3rd match though, wouldn't it ?

I guess it depends if it could negatively impact who we get in the next round...
Anyhow, we've got games to win first...

Kick off is confirmed for around 6pm sokker time.
USA have won their match 7-1.
A win for us would see us mathematically qualified. A draw and at least 1 point would be required against SA to qualify.
A loss would mean that if the USA beat Canada, we'd have to overturn whatever the GD defecit (if any) there is between us.

You recommend it so much that you post it for a second time 3 minutes after the first one ? ;)
2-1 win in the end, so we have qualified for the knockouts. It was a very fortunate win though - Hann saved us 3 times in the first half, definite man of the match.
Problem was I played the defenders too wide. I thought that they would try and opt to use a winger type tactic, and as a result when they didn't, the wide defence caused us a lot of problems.
1. P. Hann
Man of the match, we would have almost certainly lost without him.
2. C. Bridge
Wasted really. Would have been better in the middle, but did his job well.
3. T. Henchoz
Solidly did his job.
4. M. Harper
Rock solid, although his pace made him a bit of a liability and was only just enough.
(76' G. Reimels)
Didn't have a lot to do, but kept things tighter with a bit more pace.
5. D. Lepore
So so. Nothing special.
6. N. Close
Rock solid.
7. M. Tillbrant
Scored the first goal, which was a bit fortunate. Actually a v good example of why goalies need pace.
8. A. Charlton
Iffy. Didn't really defend all that well.
9. B. Hulka
Lethal at times, but a few strange passes towards the defence.
10. J. Bevan
Not his best. Nearly scored though.
11. S. May
Should really have been creditted with the assist, although was fairly quiet.
(55' O. Galvin)
Did exactly the job I hoped he would do - use his pace and blast past tired defenders, and scored which was pleasing.
So an iffy win, but a win is a win as they say.

--> Indeed! But, I think even if they used their wingers, we should not give a huge space in the middle. Since wingers turn out too powerful after engine changed, therefore a try for set up a tactic against wingers is good. However, when our team is on offence, today's tactic showed a big gap btw mid and final defense line. This possibly allow the situation that give a deadly chance by just one single pass to the opponant I want to ask to our coach to consider one (or two) defensive midfielder postion on his tactics.

It would have worked a lot better if they had gone for the width approach. Fortunately, we managed to get away with it this time.
