I think that's a display bug, because the Moldova Swiss game has finished, 0-0 draw. We go top if we beat Vietnam.

Please warn me if you are gonna play 20yr olds in the future, so I dont rest wenden mid week. Seriously 3 matches in 1 week and a players heading for an injury! I found that out the hard way.

Edit : Because form and wednesday night injuries have a part to play in who I pick on a Friday, I don't pick a team until Thursday. There are no more updates between Thursday and the matches you see.

That was uncomfortable. A last minute goal makes it look better at 4-2, but from 80 minutes onwards we looked ropey.

A narrow win against Moldova next week and all will be forgiven, hopefully.

Assuming the USA beat Luxembourg 3-0, here's a likely group table. Beating Moldova would allow us to put clear space between us and the rest. After that we have 2 games against Luxembourg, while Moldova have Vietnam and the swiss have the USA. So it's very important indeed to get a win against Moldova.

The defence looked dodgy, some of the backpasses...

And Lucy's injury didnt exactly help either.

I wouldn't be too hard on yourself - we dominated large chunks of the match, but the ability to finish seemed to desert our strikers in the 2nd half.

As a bit of a negative, our offside trap looked a little dicey as a number of last ditch tackles/lunges went our way - against better (higher tech) opponents it could have been ugly... and yes the PM on some of our defenders must be truly dire to explain some of those back passes?

But bottom line, we got the 3 points!

actually, I don't think the PM is all that bad, I'd put some of the later stuff down to stamina. If we beat Moldova, I think we'll be half-way there.
