7-1, although to be honest alot of chances were missed, which was pretty gutting.

anyway, well done Coach norwichcitynil

Well, thanks for all the positive feedback :). Switzerland beat them by 6 goals, so at least we've kept up with them. I didn't want to change too much to give gameplans away to the managers of better teams. But I should really bring the defence back a bit, after they went 1 ahead I started to worry a lot !
2010-09-10 23:06:56
especially as they only have 6 users. the score should have been in double figures :)
2010-09-10 23:12:06
a) Before today, Luxembourg had scored 5 goals (1.25 per game), and conceded 20 (5 per game). So double figures would have been twice as good as anyone else had managed.

b) you're an idiot.
2010-09-10 23:23:02
double figures would have been twice as good as their average result not their worst result

the best anyone else has managed is actually 8-0

therefore double figures is only 20% better than anyone else has managed

I stand corrected. Thank the lord for pedants.

Did I mention we're top of the group after playing everyone once ?
2010-09-10 23:39:40
a) Whatever

b) Whatever :)

have a nice evening :)
2010-09-10 23:40:00
Whatever.

You too.
2010-09-11 00:04:10
My turn to be a pedant now :

the best anyone else has managed is actually 8-0

therefore double figures is only 20% better than anyone else has managed

2 goals better than 8 goals is a quarter better, or 25 per cent.

Am I right, or have I shown up my lack of maths skills ?
2010-09-11 00:15:39
Another nice result, well done and keep up the good work. :)

It is 25% better.
2010-09-11 00:24:29
It depends on your POV, if you'd have won 10-0 you'd have 2 goals more, or 20% of 10, so I can see where the 20% has come from, while I think you're right I'm not completely sure on the wording one would use.

I think had you won 8-0, and the best was 10-0, then it'd be 20% worse, as such it would I think it should be 25% in the initial scenario.

Oh and I managed to use "one" in a posh way without thinking about it, I'm a little worried.
2010-09-11 09:28:02
no, it's 25% better - I miscounted.
2010-09-11 16:15:57
Cartman - if you're not careful you'll get forcibly evicted to solihull.

Vancian - pedantic was a little strong, sorry old chap

Mattius - you're still an idiot

Everyone - after the USA beat the swiss 5-4, we are now 5 points ahead of 3rd, with 5 games left. 3 wins and a draw gets us qualified.
2010-09-11 18:33:40
I thought pedantic was accurate - I take it as a compliment
