Back on the original question:
I've enjoyed the game over the last couple of years, but I'd never recommend it to anyone else simply because of the tactics editor. That may sound extreme, but ask yourself the following question...

What percentage of newbies do you think waste 15-30 minutes of their time setting up a tactic, only to discover that they can't save it?? (thanks to the wonderful oh-no-you-have-to-make-a-copy-and-rename-it-first "feature")

I'd guess that the answer is getting on for 50%

I know this isn't a big deal once you've been playing a while, but if one of my first experiences of a website is "They've just wasted 20 minutes of my time" I'm unlikely to go back.

Frankly, I sometimes wonder if Sokker management actually want more users.

same, it still happens sometimes. Most annoying thing ever, if it wasnt for the forums, i wouldnt be here. It just isnt a game you can casually sit and enjoy
