Howdy all

The England U21s got a world cup qualifier against the united states of whatever on Friday, and I'm still not sure whether to play 1 or 2 strikers up front. Playing 2 up front means I can only play 1 defender in front of the back 4. Or I could just rip it all up and start again with a new tactic.

What would you do ?

I'd play 4-1-3-2.

But have you seen my tactics? They are the things of nightmares....

i don't think you would consider my opinion but the USA's best player in my opinion in under 21 lvl is there attacking. so 2 defensive mids i think would be the way to go. will tall defenders as the cross the ball like every attack. :)

I do like the 2 defensive midfielders tactic, but as I say that only leaves 1 up front. I played 1 up front earlier this season, the lone striker got sent off, and I lost 5-0. So I'm not sure which is best.

I'll be checking the heights of our best u-21s now, so thanks for that :)...
If I played 4-2-3-2, do you think anyone would notice ? :)

Take a leaf out of jpk's book and attempt 4-2-2-2?

You could just make conditional orders so that someone fills in up front?

None of the mids are good enough as strikers, a drawback of young players.

I blame the U21 manager myself, he should train all the players!!!!!

Well if you play with a winger as your main attacking outlet you may only need a player who's quick and has decent shooting as your back-up option striker, not the pertfect scenario but an option none the less, just play Beardsley in defence and have his as the option. Simples.

errr...

well...

ok.

Interesting. But I still have no idea what to do.

I can't train the players.

And are you wearing that comedy nose for a laugh, or are you an undercover clown ?
