Subject: Final game of the season, 31.10

2010-10-31 21:07:03
I can only apologise to forestman and kipper - I've accidentally left a 16yo trainee in goal...
2010-10-31 21:07:12
Can't watch my game so will see in 10 mind how I've done.
2010-10-31 21:12:45
I'm not that bad.
2010-10-31 21:17:15
he looks a little slow

is the first team playing apart from the GK right?
2010-10-31 21:20:49
Well that's me down, lost 3-1. Had a player sent off after 34 mins.
2010-10-31 21:25:16
Looks like I will be playing against Sheff City in the playoff.

I watched your game, to me it felt like a fair result would have been 5-1 Sheff City rather than the other way round!

Chances are that I will lose the playoff game, Sheff are a great side and will probably be straight back up the table next season.
2010-10-31 21:25:52
wow, i won 5-0 which puts me in the prem next season :o

i'm going to be a lot weaker than all the other sides, so i expect to get beat every week :/ i'll strengthen my team before the season starts, but it'll be extremely tough to even finish 7th. i'll just have to try and enjoy the 3 month ride :p
2010-10-31 21:27:49
bizarre. Won 8-3.
Finished in 3rd, only goal difference stopping me from being 2nd. Great season seeing as my aim was just to beat my previous div 3 points total of 1. :D
2010-10-31 21:28:54
Congratulations, it was a great effort to claim the auto-promotion spot.

I would suggest it will be a bit of a struggle for you next season, but probably a great learning experience. Will you be applying for the NT or U-21 roles in the future, it seems you have a good grasp of tactics?
2010-10-31 21:30:05
Lies! I should always win matches.

Have to admit, pleased to have avoided you in a playoff, as I suspect if you were playing against me rather than Sheff you might get tempted to spend some of your coffers!
2010-10-31 21:30:19
I think you'd have got at least 1 point anyway, so I don't feel too guilty now - just dumb.

Good luck with the play-off!
2010-10-31 21:32:23
thanks :D

yeah, i already know that i'll come straight back down, but hopefully it can make my team and tactics stronger :)

yeah, i applied for the u21 job this season, and just lost out, and i plan to run again after the world cup season :)

If I chose to the option available to me is to play less trainees in order to play a stronger team, so there would be no real need to 'splash the cash'. Its not really my plan though, I wouldn't want to promote to the premiership if I wasn't ready to really compete with my current team.
2010-10-31 21:33:55
yes, would have probably won anyway today

what a 2nd part of the season i had, not long ago i had 1 point and was 9 adrift the team above

looks like the playoffs will be as follow

Sheff city - Phil
Maggica ROMA - Wolves
forest - herbs

2010-10-31 21:35:38
Looks to me that those should be three very close playoffs.

My gut feeling is that the premiership teams are slight favourites in all the games, but I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one promotion.

Due to a farcial bit of bad luck, only win 9-0. Fuuuu, I'm headed for the III of doom :(

Played a 2-5-3. Had one sub who was meant to replace my slightly injured striker at half-time. Some point in the first half, the player who all the play goes through (Sulowski) gets a 17 day injury. My ATT sub comes on (with mid orders). Then to REALLY rub it in, at HT, my slightly injured striker moves to the key position with ATT orders. My original sub is now where I want him to be, but with MID orders. Fail ensues :(
