The most activity on that forum was when I commented on the lack of activity :P

scotland association is more active than the normal forums (as in 3 posts per day rather than 1)

To be fair you do have some really valid points, and i agree that people should be made aware that their player has been called up by the NT manager to the squad, but I dont think it is the job of the NT manager to send individual e-mails to all the clubs I think it should be done automatically. I think if you have a player in the NT squad you should be keeping an eye out for him playing everytime there is a NT match, I know i do when any player of mine has been selected for a squad.

Regarding Bensted: Yes he is a good player, yes he is one of the better mids of his age group. I overlooked him for one game and you messaged me and asked me why, i replied to you. Since then he has been involved in the NT squad most weeks, he hasnt played because he didnt fit the tactic I wnated to use its as simple as that, there is nothing personal in it.

The activity of the full NT is very poor in regards to banter etc. During my last stint the banter and help from other users was excellent, but sadly alot of the people who were responsible for this have either gone or have lost interest in the game a bit. I did try in the first season to whip up a bit of banter and discussion about the full NT, but users just used the discussions to pick holes in tactics or selections or to moan about the fact their players werent playing and they demanded to know why!!! I have not enjoyed the second stint as NT manager at all, and I will certainly never stand for nt election again in this country or any country i think, its a shame as i used to really enjoy this part of Sokker.

Users are quick to be negative and pick holes but dont seem to be so quick in offering help and avice or sending regular player updates, makes the job really hard considering that we all play this game for fun.

Rant over, have a good day :)

as an NT manager you have to expect most people will not like you and some people hate you. Take that attitude and realistically nothing can bother you. If taking an NT job thinking that you will never be criticised is a bit naive in my book.

I think someone told me there is already a notifier when your player gets called up. I've seen no evidence of this however.

I don't expect the NT manager or anyone to send SK mails out when players are called up, hence the idea i raised, but it would seem some NT managers message users that have players injured on duty. Again, i think this should come in the form of a notifier.

For the record, i have sporadically checked Bensted's involvement and often when i checked he wasn't included. I can see he's played in recent games which is great, though i don't see any mails telling me he wasn't included due to tactics etc

If i'm honest, if he's going to get injured for 21 days, the benefits from him playing in the NT are negated by at least 9~ games, so i'd rather he didn't play at all.

It is sad you feel that way about the NT - in many ways it mirrors real life - but as someone else said about the U21, it is just a game. There is no benefit to anyone if England are ranked 3rd or 333rd, and naturally you are going to get people moan about selection and injuries.

Anyway, this thread isn't about me and Bensted, it's about getting more people involved, and i'm interested to know what you might think will help.

I think you've done a great job and voted for you, i want to work together to make the experience better for everyone, and if being told about my players being injured on duty makes me happier, then you should be interested i feel.

just sack your player and be done with it

i've watched a few games, but quite frankly, they bore me. Dont bother to watch my own games anymore, just see the report and watch the replay in fast fast fast forward to see how the tactic worked.

It definitely happens. Although I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard for the notifier to say if a player plays. If a player is called up and stays in the squad then you are not told though.

In regards to the mail about why he hasnt played, I have looked back and I offer my apologies as it seems it was a conversation i had with another foreign user about their player.

I think the main way that people will get involved is by having users who actually care tbh. Most users seem to not worry about what is happening with the NT and where we are. I care what happens to the NT and I want England to do well now and especially in the future, and involvment by the community is key to this. I just dont know how to do it, and as I am near the end of my reign I am not going to start trying to change things now, I think that would be best left to whoever takes over from me. whoever it is has my full backing and my full support and I will do what I can to help them in anyway they may need me too (within reason!!!!)

Going slightly off topic, I am going to use mainly u-26 players in the NT mini-tournament with the other home nations, I think this will benefit the incoming manager alot more and give a boost to their training too. I will use some older players, but no players over 30 will be used as they are coming to an end of the sokker carreers and we need to look to the future now.

At approx 14:14, I released Walter Lambshead from U-21, and then re-appointed him.

You should have 2 notifications, I think they go into your email inbox, on the right hand side with notifications.

Also, Benstead is competing with players up to 30 years old.

Edit : @doughnut jimmy.

Edit 2 : Oh - he doesn't play for you any more. Oops.

Some people got pretty annoyed when I dropped their players back in the day.

Can't have been me, I never had any good enough :)

It was one of your youth products I got the most hassle about I seem to recall. Manager almost went bezerk when I decided he wasn't good enough for England anymore, George Melchiot.

Benstead is a big girl and listens to George Michael.
