I feel pretty hard done by.

Looks like England's amazing CCC run continues, with phil also heading out the exit door. Only myself (R2 twice) and Sheff (R3) have made it past the first round.

It's tragic! I didn't exactly expect to do well, but I had so many chances that game that I can't believe I lost on penalties. Also managed to sub off my best defensive midfielder for an offensive one (played as a DMC) and brought a defender on for a winger, but still... lol

I'm intrigued to hear phil's excuses.

Still, I lost to effectively a bot last season, and had the shame of losing to a Scottish side of all sides in the 1st edition!

edit: and that's meant in a backhanded compliment kind of way, not in a "Phil's good at making excuses" kind of way!

Having looked at the match stats you were unlucky and Phil was outplayed. The excuse of the striker being injured will be used but I am sure he bought 3 or 4 last season of decent quality so he should have had cover on the bench.

Hard to have cover on the bench when my only remaining striker was already starting as a centre back!!!

Not deliberate, just a mistake due to injuries during my qualifier that I didn't bother changing. Just got back from a few drinks, remembered the game then thought bugger, I had no defence set!!

Drinkers never prosper. ;)
