We're playing the USA on Friday, in a U-20 match. Dale Watcham is being rested, as I really wouldn't want to injure him before the World Cup starts. I've added marks from the "future" threads where they are available, so if you have a similar rated player, maybe they can knock one of these guys out of the final 16.

1 Ziggy Huntley GK
2 Toby Flint DEF ??
3 Kai Plackett DEF ??
4 Ewan Duffield DEF 64.5
5 Hayden Sheffield DEF ??
6 Jay Trude MID 59.25
7 Harrison Colley MID 49.50
8 Bruce Stiles MID 51.25
9 Ivan Witheycombe MID 39.75 ? update needed
10 Ermejo Blatch ATT 34
11 Matt Wakeham ATT 34

12 Felix Powell GK
13 Cecil Slocombe DEF 57.5
14 Bill Strudwick MID 67.75
16 Dan Goodenough ATT 34

Ahh no! Why does Don Heslop have to be injured when theres a GK place in the U20's going? :(

edit: looking at the options, he probably wouldn't cut it now I come to think of it

he'd need magical keeper, formidable pace to sit on the bench.

Would Strudwick make the starting eleven if not for form?
2010-11-30 21:51:34
easily. tech and pace training would make him a good u-21 NT winger I think.

Not sure winger will be his best position? By this time next season he should (injuries allowing) look something like this...

very good stamina, unsatisfactory keeper
outstanding pace, excellent defender
excellent technique, outstanding playmaker
brilliant passing, formidable striker

well, put it this way, unless i get more data he could well have the best tech / pace combination available. Ideally, where would you want him to play ? def / mid ?

edit : this is all moot if his form doesn't improve :).

Hey, you're the coach ...I'd be happy just to see him play :)

I hadn't realised we are that far up shit creek for wingers...

oh yes. nobody seems to train them - everyone is going down the def/mid route. A proper gap in the market if ever I saw one.
Revised line-up, some new data, one injury :

1 Ziggy Huntley GK
2 Ant Lemon DEF
3 Kai Plackett DEF
4 Ewan Duffield DEF
5 Cecil Slocombe DEF
6 Jay Trude MID
7 Bruce Stiles MID
8 Harrison Colley MID
9 Ivan Witheycombe MID
10 Dan Goodenough ATT
11 Matt Wakeham ATT

12 Felix Powell GK
13 Toby Flint DEF
14
15 Bill Strudwick MID
16 Ermejo Blatch ATT
I had to drop a few 21 year olds in order to get the 20 year olds for this game into the squad of 40.

If I dropped your player :

Don't panic, he should be back in next week
If I don't put him in next week, give me a nudge by sk-mail.
Revised first 11 :

1 Ziggy Huntley GK
2 Ant Lemon DEF
3 Cecil Slocombe DEF
4 Ewan Duffield DEF
5 Kieran Patel DEF
6 Jay Trude MID
7 Bruce Stiles MID
8 Harrison Colley MID
9 Ivan Witheycombe MID
10 Ermejo Blatch ATT
11 Matt Wakeham ATT

12 Felix Powell GK
13 Toby Flint DEF
14 Kai Plackett DEF
15 Bill Strudwick MID
16 Dan Goodenough ATT
TV Studio for the match.
Kick off is in 9 minutes, for the people like me that don't go out on a Friday :).

1-0 up after 60, you may actually win for a change.
2010-12-03 21:46:24
2-0! They're down to 10 men, even you can't throw this away can you?
