Subject: How do you buy your players on Sokker?

I have been trying to buy a defender for the last couple of weeks and I am getting really frustrated at putting on early bids - generally 80%-100% of their suspected transfer value - and missing out by the very next bid or one after that!

This has happened in at least 6 of the last 8-10 players i have tried to buy and wonder if there is any way it can be changed but kept fair/deter cheaters.

My not-thought-out idea is to allow the seller to accept the current bid price in the last 12 hours of auction, but other than that they may want the money a bit earlier to bid for their own player, can't really think of many advantages for the seller.

I'm just really frustrated and guess that all the top managers in the game are able to log on at most deadlines as there are certainly bargains to be had if you have that flexibility.

I keep forgetting and missing the deadlines of players I want, like a striker tonight.

I do though look for a player then try and get on not long before the deadline, if I've spent a long time looking for the player, rather than a random bid I'm more likely to remember though.

Lots of early bids on players you are interested in (low bids).

Keep a watch of your office after that...

Generally I only search and bid for players that have dead line at an hour on which I think I will be online. I never bid - for example - on players with deadline after 22.00 hours (as probably I am already in bed at that time watching on TV :))

And usually I don't insist on a specific player. I think of a maximum limit and if that limit is exceeded, then I quit and move on to a similar player.

Pretty much how my buying players works. I tend to forget when to log on or get distracted and miss the deadline.

Its the same for most I would imagine, I miss 99% of players that I'm interested in buying.

Usually it takes a few weeks to buy a player I'm after as I miss so many.

My problem is that the peak time for buying and selling is home-time / bed-time for my boy. From 6 - 8 p.m. I'm generally driving, picking the wife and kid up, getting in, playing something quickly on the wii before evan goes to sleep, getting him into bed, getting dinner sorted, or eating. Which means that by the time I think about logging on here, all the best players have generally been sold.

the only players i generally come on for at specific times are english striker trainees, as the decent ones are pretty rare.
for the normal players i'll search what i want, bid on all the players i'd have for the next couple days, and then narrow it down in my office to the ones i'm likely to be online for, and that i really want, and most likely to afford :D
like a lot though i miss so many when i'm bidding, and i get distracted and then the player sells for less than i would of payed :p

i get a bit annoyed with the transfer system i think if it worked like ebay it would be much better where u put in a bid and its up to other people to beat it and once the time expires thats the end of the sale instead of sales lasting and hour longer then they should

I quite like it... it means that the players usually go for the right price in the end
