Subject: [PROMO] Staying Drive!

Well, here's a little plan I've cooked up.

Using Plus statistics, I will post the new players that have joined every day, and me, the Tutors, and anyone else who wants to help can send a message encouraging them to visit the forums, what to do first, etc, etc.

Anyone up for this?

I'll start when Week 0 starts, until then, we need to get a message going (more specific than the current one)

Its a great idea and used to happen when I first joined, I had a welcome message when I first opened my side....and it actually helped make me feel welcome. It was Gibbage stating his undying love if I remember correctly...actually it was sgod who has since left unfortunately.

Yes i remember getting a mail from Sgog when first joining too, about time soebody filled his long gone boots :)

I am one of those who got that welcome message from sGod too. He was such a courteous and helpful person who I miss greatly.

I got one as well, but I remember thinking it was an auto message...

I think we should include "If you have any questions, feel free to contact me", so the user has a point of contact to start with

Also, we should make a list of those who are willing to help, including my good self in that list, and then divide all of the IV leagues between us... and we can be responsible for those individual leagues!

This is the example using names in this thread:

Hopefully we can get more than 5 users to help, but that is just an example :)

Also, I am thinking we could all work together to make the best welcome message that is most helpful, and is more likely to encourage users to stick around

I think we should include the following:

- How to change the colours of the kit, using images to help explain if necessary
- Strongly recommend using the forums, including links to sokker England and newbie threads
- How to set up a friendly, and the advantages of doing so
- Financial advice, followed by the best way to initially acquire coaches
- The basics of training
- Warn against large purchases

Feel free to suggest more, or disagree with some of the points... All input most welcome

Ok I cannot possibly take on more than I do already through my admin role, but what I can do is post all new users to a thread so that people can then link stright to that new user?

That'd be great ;)

Also, Tutors, you kinda have to actually do something for once ;)

Seriously some of us are old enough to have day jobs, but I'd be very happy to help.

PS - I do try to answer any outstanding questions in the newbie forums whenever I'm online.

That was kind of part of my suggestion... only to fewer leagues :)

We can discuss how much or little else we do... just a simple link to the forums will be enough Id say! Whatever else will be just a bonus!

you should create a more user friendly tutorial on the Newbie Forum, then instead of bombarding them with information through e-mails, they can got the the tutorial thread and select what they want to view.

This should then make your e-mails not as long, so it should save time.

Right, I'm going to start making:

Firstly, Top 10 Tips for when you start?

1) don't spend any money
2) read robnobs newbie guide
3) assess your squad before making any sales or purchases
4) try to understand how the tactics editor works
5) play for 2 weeks before thinking of spending money.

Sneaky, putting less effort than required :P
