Same. When i looked i don't think anyone even attempted to run i.e. applied but no speech.

I wouldn't dare run, especially if ken or a foreigner were running too; they'd vote for them just to spite me! :)

ncn applied but removed his application relatively quickly. Other than that, tomkellz has been unchallenged.

Its just general can`t be botheredness from the sub community of good managers. If I had some tactical ability in this game I might stand one day

NCN did not fancy his chances as he seems very negative about himself, he could have won it or at least had a good battle if he had stuck it out but resigned himself and the rest of us to the one horse race!

So it's all NCN's fault.

A fair few things can be blamed on ncn.

Well, when you have the Premiership winner, and the NT coach, both of whom are MODs, coming out in favour of one candidate, the writing is on the wall. At the time I resigned, Toms thread had 5 people following gibbages / wdps example and declaring their votes for him, while my thread had gone ignored. and at the point of resigning the vote was 11 to 2 in favour of Tom.

It used to be that elections had questions and answers. These days it seems that we just have a naming ceremony. I don't consider that to be my fault.

To be fair, at the time I posted you didn't have a thread up.

So what you are saying is that you were trying to sway people to vote for your man before anyone else had a chance to get their feet in the blocks.

And to be fair, neither you or anyone else in the community based their votes on anything points raised in the forums, they just followed yours and wdps "Got my vote", probably on the basis that he's a good lad and deserved a shot.

Having done the u21 job I'd argue that you need 4 seasons to do it properly, and my vote will go to Tom if he qualifies next time. But any chance of getting that point across was lost by everyone playing follow the leader.

I have spoken to you in depth on this matter. I agree that you need a 4 season trot especially if unlucky with an age group as you were undoubtedly were last season. Had people found out that Gibbage had voted for tom I am sure you would have had a chance of turning around the voting difference. ;)

Likewise and I am being serious here, Danvan was edged out narrowly by me the first election, had he stood after my first finals I am certain he would have beat me........you edged tom out by 1 vote before and thats why I am sure votes were going to Tom this time around. He also did really well to both make the Prem and put some good results together.

You should run again in another election as I have already stated to you. Plus as for people following me I do not see myself as any more important than any other user here......I am an Admin but I have only 1 vote at the end of the day, maybe as a staff member I should not back a bid publically? I still think you did a great job in your first season and were just unlucky with a poor age group last season. I had experience of that in my first finals and its a huge frustration after performing well the previous season to actually qualify. :)

To be honest I am more concerned with the lack of interest, it shouldn't be a 2 horse race, there should be 3 or 4 strong candidates. There should also be some kind of debate - there was no debate in this election.
2011-03-11 21:26:49
I whole heartedly agree with you, I would like to run against a strong candidate at the NT level. I had a fantastic election with danvan and it was very close. There are many good managers in our country, all of whom are capable of doing a great job at both levels. I personally saw the u21 role as a place to learn and then move on to the full NT role......they are vastly different teams though.

Other than when you first got elected, have we ever had anything other than a one horse race? I remember more candidates, but there has always been a clear winner and never a time when I think there has been a surprise winner.

Do you consider that a good thing ? I don't. People should want to do these jobs, as they add depth to a game they enjoy. Anyone in II or above is capable I reckon, and it's only a few hours a week.
2011-03-12 00:24:38
anyone coaching any team in sokker is capable of being either NT or u21 coach if they want iam the exception as im crap at tactics and take constructive critism personally
2011-03-12 07:17:20
My tactics are pretty good, but I dont know enough about the value of players' traits and skills, and therefore choosing the most effective lineup

Most of my theories and ideas are disagreed with by the general sokker society. Although experienced, I still have much to learn

No, although 4 World Cup medals for a relatively small nation isn't too bad a showing for it.
