The English national team have a long history of employing managers who speak English as a second language. Sven Goran Erikkson - Swedish, Fabio Capello - Italian, Schteve McClaren - Dutch.

Do you consider speaking English as a first language to be to your detriment ?

That's more like it - keep it up for the next 2 weeks and you'll have my vote.

That is if you vote for me in the Scotland U21 elections... ;)

So why do you think that scottish managers have done well in the prem and could you repeat it here?

Also, if you were incharge and we had to play scotland, what then? And how would you feel?

Finally, if you had some sort of meltdown and messed the community about like what has happened at NT level before to a country not too far away. What could the community here do?

Damn, what did I miss ? :).

Well if this was Hattrick I would not be able to talk about it. I am sure RTG can reply to that one though!

I could not repeat it here im afraid no. Scottish managers have done well in English football for years simply due to fear and respect. I cant bring that to the players in here.

Also, if you were incharge and we had to play scotland, what then? And how would you feel?

The same way i felt when i played them against Denmark this week - im in charge of Denmark - my job is to win games no matter who i play. Same ethos would be applied.

Finally, if you had some sort of meltdown and messed the community about like what has happened at NT level before to a country not too far away. What could the community here do?

No need to worry about that - i hope i dont have a meltdown although im sure some days my kids try to make me do just that.

You lost 6-1 with Denmark against England, of a side of roughly the same strength. What do you feel went wrong?
2011-06-25 15:27:01
Good grief. If he's the strongest candidate maybe I should run. Yes folks, it looks that bad...

shots were similar - difference was England took their chances. Twice the covered winger broke through and setup a goal. Denmark missed a penalty England scored a penalty. Denmark missed countless 1v1s England scored most of their 1v1s.

One of those games.

I actually felt we looked like we had more chances than you, but alas 12 shots to 11 was what I saw. I felt we were more dangerous throughout with the wingers causing you trouble even though you had 5 defenders.

The substitution worked a treat as the fresh striker and mid combined nicely. In my opinion we deserved the win but not a 6-1 win.

You have still never beaten me though rtg. :p

cant argue with that summary mate at all. I knew the centre of defence were dodgy (secondaries are terrible) but they should have coped with the 1 striker. Our 2 wingbacks were superdivine defence and divine/unearthly pace and pretty decent passing/pm combo - i was surprised to see them hoof the ball out of field so badly. I reckon you won the game in midfield as you had a lot of room there. One thing - did you cover your defs for red cards as in 88 mins a massive hole appeared (not that it mattered tho as it was 88 mins). Not happy with the forwards - dont really think ive been happy with the forwards since i took over really - there is no Colson in Denmark thats for sure.

Yes I did cover the defs with an order for a red card, but it did not happen as the cover was Shannon and he had got replaced by Stroud in the 60th min.....I thought Stroud would then take the mantle of the conditional order but it did not happen, I am not sure why though. :/

vote for rtg just to see if lasts a full term, or will he succumb to the powers of the square sausage!

Come on, that will surely liven up this tedious game!
