What's everyones opinion on the importnance of assistants?
Currently got 2x Excellent's and 1x Formidable was thinking of upgrading to 2x Outstanding and 1x Formidable. My head coach is 6x Unearthly in the main skills so general training is full.
Would the change be worth it? Just wondering because a couple of my players are getting old now.
Also is it me or is pace dropping a lot quicker on older players than it used to?
Cheers

I've got 3 x brilliants as mine. As a II side you should be able to comfortably afford 3x incredible. It's hard to say how much of a difference assistants make, I'm not sure if it has ever been properly researched.
On the subject of pace, I think it drops quicker perhaps because it starts to decline on players earlier. I've heard rumours (but no proof) of players dropping pace as young as 28, I've had a player drop at 29 (although managed to get him back up to the level he was).
On Harry Hardcastle (34), he dropped to magical in pace yet still holds divine defending, even though both skills were double divine back in the day. I expect his pace will disappear far quicker than his defending will. Corey Bridge (40) has dropped from incredible to weak pace (9 levels) defending has dropped 3 levels to incredible, so it is definitely quicker.

Don't know about that I'm pretty tight now day's :O
Obviously I will be making profit with them, but not sure if making less with them would be worth it.
Would you say 14k is the max I should be looking at, wage wise per coach? My JC is incredible with 11k wages, but I think the money I will have to spend to keep wages that low, would be the same as paying 3k more per wage,

My cheapest brilliant is just over 16500. There is some info somewhere on what coaches wages should be for each general appraisal. Can't remember where though.
I had a 28yo drop to Magical pace the season just gone. I'm almost positive he had extra trainings aswell.
I have 3x incredible after deciding a whileback that the extra cost for 3x brilliants was too high.
I've got a magical and 2 brilliants. I think any additional training benefit is worth the extra cash. Especially when you can fairly easily cover costs with the variable ticket prices now.
a magical! nice!
At one time I went for max, but was running at a loss - admittedly under old system - but in the Prem when losing lots the attendance money is worse than winning in II...

I has 3 magical with dearest wage at 23 190 £. If I did not I know I would waste a fortune on skill select on coaches as I can't seam to help my self (over 2.5M used on that botton). My unearthly youth coach is the biggest waste as not sure under new system the diff between high end coaches on youth school.
I did some coach skills selection and managed to shave 2k a week off my wage bill. Cost me about 60k to do though!
Thing is it shaves a bit off your training too. I don't think people realise the higher wage means more sub levels so more training.
That's my interpretation though, and does depend on the keeper skill...

Not necessarily. The assistant I got rid of was lop sided with a lot of unearthly skills.
Fair enough, it is pretty hard to judge.
I have 2 Magicals and a Brilliant, I could cover the cost easily floating around the top of Div 2, but I have lost money being in the Prem for a season.
