Subject: why vote for an already failed england manager for a second term

2011-10-24 00:39:57
please do explain why 14 of you voted for someone who has already had 1 bite at the cherry and failed , is it because he has experience, is it because he is in the premiership unlikely

seems it part of the old cliche club wins the vote for england manager yet again

cant wait for you to fail for a second time

its my opinion but feel free to have a go in sk mail all 14 of you that voted for pls send me msg explaining why you think someone else didnt deserve a chance other than he played the game for long time he in top league he is superb at tactics?

only person in uk who has any grasp on good tactics in my opinion is phil fox

i find this a bit unfair. i voted for who think will do the best job, if he does or not is another question. but surely you openly saying this isn't going to help anyone, or change anything for for the better.

on the other note, i do feel other people do deserve a chance, however i still think he is currently the best person for the job of the available candidates. your opinion is completely different from mine, and 13 others.

Given the lack of any real opposition I'm actually surprised he didn't win by a landslide.

Can you give a strong case for any one of the managers being able to do a better job?

1. ermejo 14 (38,9 %)
2. NCFC 6 (16,7 %)
kenny2009 6 (16,7 %)
4. Maqoma 4 (11,1 %)
251178DANIEL 4 (11,1 %)
6. kwast 2 (5,6 %)
7. mahmutkurt 0 (0,0 %)

That again is unfair, there are what i feel a few people it that list that could do a good job. There's no real reason for demoralizing other people in the election to proof your point that the 'best person' for the job got it. we vote for who we think is the best, not because others wont do a good job.

don't think there's much room to complain when the current prem winner wins the election for the NT. yes ermejo's had a go before, but he's had a lot more experience since then.

as regards the other candidates, i don't think a foreign manager would ever stand a chance against decent english managers, and NCFC and ken both left it quite late to run when most people would have already made their minds up.

by real opposition you mean the little cliche of about 15-20 managers

you lot ever wondered why even though user numbers are up forum posts are down you lot aint real friendly at all

You treat people how you would like to be treated.

Ermejo is an accomplished manager. He won the Premiership. I therefore summarise that hes the best for the job. Simple as.
2011-10-24 09:35:26
...and you are the nicest person around are you and we should all take after you? Please.

I actually forgot to vote, although would have voted for maquamo, his speech was excellent.

Naturally on a public forum, people are going to vote for the most active and successful manager running, and that is ermejo.

The game really needs to improve it's marketing of the voting system. If it popped up in my face I'd vote, otherwise I usually forget.

I don't need to go on SK Mail to state openly that I voted for ermejo, he is a great tactician and as he won the Prem by a huge margin last season with a less superior squad to Phil - I guess hes also a better tactician.

He also did fairly well in his first term as England manager, we are a very POOR NT side now and that I am afraid is a fact. I saw this happening a couple of years ago. WE are a small nation in sokker terms and will only get worse.
2011-10-24 10:32:55
as wdp said folks - i think you should get used to not acheiving in the NT scene just now and probably for a good few seasons. scotland is exactly the same - great strikers not bad midfielders but utter garbage defenders for NT scene and hence why we failed to qualify (it has nothing to do with the old NT managers tactics i may add).

England has the userbase to have a solid NT. Look at Israel, their userbase is far smaller, yet I would say their NT is better than ours.

ermejo had won the election before any posts were made anyway. I think he had 6 votes even before he made a post or had officially declared he was running (I suspect many though forestman would run again). I personally didn't vote for ermejo, but I can't see him doing too badly with what's available for the NT. Seems to be doing well with arguably not the strongest prem squad.

Other NTs are far more organised than us, we tried to get people interested in helping the NT side, however I had no success at all in gaining any help when I was NT manager, a Romanian User was the only one to offer any scouting help.

A lot of users in our country are new lately too which means low quality coaches and or no school at all.

A fair few users have left and also others have just dumped the Academy anyway. We are in a POOR state, we do need an overhaul but accross the board, it is not the managers fault wqhen the community as a whole is not helping, and the post above highlights just how much help Ermejo is likely to receive....just because hes done it before. Which I find very sad.

There are not many users here who train their players long term for NT use anymore, Bensted with DJ is one of the few cases I could mention. Bradgridge with Lmoran another.

I really enjoyed my first stint as NT manager and had a great selection of managers to help discuss upcoming games and players, we even had a private forum on another site which was widely used.

My 2nd stint was grbage though, and tbh, it wasnt helped by the English communities failure to show any kind of signs of interest as to what was going on!!! people on here are very quick to jump on peoples backs when the results are bad ( just like the english press!!) but very few paise or offer words of advice or encouragement.

I hardly post anymore in forums or message other users, i used to be a very active manager and i have mentored a few people on here, WDp and Phil being the main two. But lately i have seen a mjaor decline in the enthusiasm on the forums, and it is left to the main group the r3tarded keeps going on about to post and to try and keep things interesting, and posts like the one that started this thread is what is killing the forums on this site. It is bang out of order and should never have been posted imo, r3tarted needs to man up and apologise, we all play this game for fun and that kind of post is too far away from that.

For what little it's worth, I voted for ermejo (and tomkellz for U21) on the basis that they're the obvious "safe pair of hands". I've rarely had a particularly strong view on who should be NT manager, but given the low turnout I've always voted to reduce the risk of a joke / useless / "WTF?" manager getting the job.

Whether or not the surprising closeness of this seasons U21 election supports that position is left as an exercise for the reader.
2011-10-24 14:32:41
i voted for kenny, england does need something new. ermjo is a good manager but couldnt vote for him because of the lack of interest in his last term.
2011-10-24 15:14:48
man up eh! now thats a saying i aint heard for a while. although i can see your reasons for thinking i should apologise. Look what ive done i got a thread going where people are posting why they voted for the england manager and what they think is wrong with the england NT ie people not training not having junior schools, i think ive done a good job in bringing this out into the forums.. As for jumping on peoples backs i dont think ive ever slated an england manager ( apart from the real NT that is)
