Subject: why vote for an already failed england manager for a second term

2011-10-30 23:41:36
it was a friendly
2011-10-30 23:45:54
it was me in charge, the first friendly since taking over

i took him off to have a fresh striker for the last 30 minutes, it is always good to have a fresh player on key positions and i replaced one striker and the winger as they are the key roles of the tactic used, only made 2 subs to avoid playing with 10 men in case of a late injury

Is it just a friendly? Its teams like Greece we should be beating.

Its little things here and there that costs us games like that and then makes us drop considerably down in the rankings.

Fair play

2011-10-30 23:54:25
Not convinced it was a mistake, biggest impact on the result was that Greece put out a strong tactic that largely negated our better player ability.

it was a close game, could have gone either way

in regards to the sub it was a tactical move to bring a fresher player in for the last few mins

This will be the last ill probably say on the matter, but I think the English community needs to choose what they want from their NT squad.

The way I see it is the NT manager either goes for the win or to keep the English trainers happy give their players the odd game here and there even if they aren't the best option on that day.

Unfortunately we don't have the user base to do both.

Also obviously being able to come up with some good tactics and from my opinion Ermejo has certainly got the capability of that after smashing the prem.

I really believe that NCFC should hang back and come back with something meaningful be happy with 6 votes because 5 or 6 people like you you did not get more because of your speech as rightly put it was only 6 lines so please show dignity and show your interest in either helping the NT or just leave it to the people that do want to help even if they are "old guards" because no matter what is said the problem remains. England needs us to join up not we need England, in all honesty I think u r only interested in the NT for urself and not for to actually help out England.

actually i'd say lower age games for the NT is really important. it lets the manager see the players that will one day be good enough to start, and it also keeps the players managers interested in training that player. it shouldn't matter with ranking as both sides are playing weakened teams.

having thought about it i think a big problem is between the ages of 22 and 25 where most players don't get NT games. players can end up not getting trained or trained as well and it goes unnoticed as no one is checking on the players progress as they're past the u21s and not yet good enough for the NT.
we could do with some scouts who solely focus on players aged 22-25. they would keep track of the players skills, and be in regular contact with the players managers to try and make sure they're trained properly between these ages.

I just don't see the point in all these threads about helping the NT, how you can train your squad to benefit the NT. Its aload of tripe really!

Players get trained its the main objective of the game, the NT comes second imo and is just a add on.

In early years I agree - but clearly English players have to be trained - and everyone can choose to do that. It's also a fact that you can choose continue to train players past economic viability. Post approx 25 years old there is little economic value of trainers training players, but 25,26,27,28 can still make quite a difference

;)

let me live to the expectations first and run one of the least successfull NT spells first!

jokes apart, playing a few U26 matches this year after the WC and next week (to avoid injuries to the fiorst teamers), those high level 24-26yo do benefit from the extra training coming from the NT and ensure there is a new life after the aging stars start to srop skills
