the qualifiers start this week, with our first game being against Belgium. they're ranked higher than us, but it's a game i think we have a really good chance of winning. the team and tactics will probably be up tomorrow on the England Association. if you're not already in this, then apply to join so you can see line-ups, tactics etc, and hopefully get involved with the national teams.

could everyone please update their English players by either using the NT Database, the firefox add on, or by sending the skills to me in an sk mail.

thanks, tom :)

It will be a difficult match for you, especially that they have loczenty as U21 manager. I heard he is very good and experienced, so maybe this is a good moment for you - English community - to get involved with all that you can (tactic advice, players update etc). Let aside all your disputes and unite to prepare a good match against Belgium! I hope the result will be good ;)

thanks Johnny :)

the team and tactics are now posted on the England Association forum! since a lot has being said about the NT's and community lately, i've tried to get more users interested by going more in depth with why i've chosen the players and tactics involved, and also tried my hand at a humourous "news article".
please go have a read, even if it's just to laugh at my failed attempt at the article, and show your support for England :D

England - Belgium
the match will start at 21:29 sk time tomorrow. you can follow the link to watch the match when it starts, and also to make predictions of the game beforehand.

thanks, tom :)

Bad luck Tom.

Really gutted. What do you put the result down too?

Didn't watch it but the tactic looks a little odd. They had a very high line and we were very deep, which probably caused a lot of pressure etc

14 offsides say it all, they had an high defense vs an high strikers line which cut off our chances

i watched the match ;p they were much better than you

As the score was 4-0 I guess they must have been. :p

I can say scores aren't everything looking at my U21 match... but I'll watch it later, but it seems Locz caught you out with the high defense.

WOW now that was lucky ;)

Congrats on qualifying :)

well we lost 3-0 which was disappointing as it was a better performance than the first game of the season despite the final result being about the same. i was gutted when we lost as i thought that waas it for us, but Azerbaijan have just beat Mexico 3-0 which means that we actually manage to get through in 2nd place :)

although i'd have obviously preferred to qualify through our own merit i won't complain, and think it was deserved overall as i think only Belgium deserved to take points off us. i will now spend the next few weeks assembling the world cup squad, whether i get to take us there or someone else wins the upcoming election.
