Subject: Planing your team to help the NT
Always worth a try. I don't think I could warrant spending millions on one. Yet I'd probably continue to waste the same amount through coach select!
Ive been here for a while and tbh i think youth schools are a complete waste of money.Mine has not even broke even and i have an unearthly coach .
I have been meaning to do some "proper maths" on my youth team to see how valuable it is - as I have run at 30 youths for 6 years, yet have had a terrible history with my youth team and have often wondered "is it worth it?"
mind you at least we get crowd attendance money nowadays that helps :)

Ive done my maths and ill probably be closing it at some point this season.
About time you had bad luck with things like that lol
well, it says in your stats you have earned over £20 million on ex juniors, not a bad return i think.
Youth teams vital for England's NT future
Good luck with your maths

I think the problem people have with junior schools is this misconception that you have to have a unearthly junior coach. You can easily get away with a formidable / outstanding which costs a fraction of the wages, I did that for ages and had plenty of decent juniors come through. You won't get a divine junior that way, but a magical etc can still be more than worthwhile.
maths is more complex than that for trainees that you train up - what would they have cost you to buy from someone else?
e.g. say you get an uber-pull & then train them and sell for £5m, it's not the £5m you should attribute, but the value of the youth at the pull time - e.g. if you could have sold him at that time for £1,5m.

agreed. The costs post incredible really ramps up horribly.
I've been having a very good coach untill now and to be honest I didnt get any youth players over formidable, the only point that I made some good profit was on a 16 years old player. i will now try to get a better coach to see if that helps...let me know how you get on with those maths...it will be good to know :)thx for the replys guys
Ok since we are talking about coaches what can you guys tell me about assistants ...how many and what general apraisal is good enough and also money wise?
I've answered this for you in your Newbie England thread.
