now the 3rd time i've wrote this out due to service errors :(

England - Azerbaijan

sorry this is up late. we play Azerbaijan at 18:29 sk time today in our 2nd qualifier of the season. the team and tactics are up in the England Association so have a look there.

hopefully we can get our first win of the season after a disappointing result last week against Belgium.

yeah, as i've said we're struggling upfront at the moment with form. that being said we should have won that. very unlucky to draw with 15 shots to 3, we hit the bar about 5 times :/
it makes next weeks match against mexico crucial for us. we could really do with winning that before a run of easier games.

No way man...I almost had a heart attack during this game...we had a verry good first half...cant belive we didnt win ...bad luck tom...they also had a few good ones that made me almost pull my hear out but...its only improvement from now...and lets hope for a better luck next time

What should an u21 striker look like? This ex-junior of mine is getting approx marks of 50?

I could do a couple of weeks of striker training, and get Raine up to outstanding striker, if that would help ?

triple outstanding or equivalent is normally a minimum to get in the squad, with the starters a bit better. will get an update on him, but from past ones i don't think he'll be good enough.

@ ncn: i think it would be a waste. i appreciate your willingness to help, but it would be wasted training for him as a mid really.

team and tactics are up on the England Association page. Belgium beat Mexico 2-0 earlier which means a win will put us through to next seasons world cup. we're favourites, but only drew earlier in the season. the team looks stronger than last time we played them though, especially upfront, as we now have a choice of a few strikers with decent form :)

we lost 5-4 :/ that is again a joke as far as i'm concerned. i know it happens, but to dominate both games against them, and come away with 1 point out of 6 is ridiculous.
we're still above mexico, so we need to match their score next week. we have Belgium which will be tough, but hopefully we can get a good result, and still qualify...

Ouch. That was about as unlucky as you can get.

You have to beat Belgium now realistically, as you can be fairly sure Mexico will win there game next week which is the typical way things work.

you played your def line too high he targeted your left back with his forward who had far too many 1on1 with our keeper and although we did have more shots a lot of them were speculative at most. dunno how fast your back line is but his forward looked really quick maybe yoiu should of dropped back a bit and then their wouldnt of been so many 1on1 with the keeper good try though
