Just wondering what the concensus is on junior leagues now they have been running a while.
Myself, I set a team and really that's about as far as it goes. I don't change tactic and only make sure I fill all slots to avoid a walkover (and even then don't check it every week).

Couldn't have explained it better myself. I try and set a team, don't always remember and don't care because it's all bobbins. This, combined with my junior school dross has left me in Junior III.
Well gutted, obviously.

COMPLETE WASTE of Time.......the old system was great and exciting, this system is rubbish and is one of the reasons why the interest for a lot of people has wained in this game imho. I remember keenly waiting for a first full 3 or 4 week pop, now who really knows? Even an Unearthly coach is a waste of money imo with rises and drops of 3 levels.
I try and set a team, but not much more than that.
I'm not sure that even with my Unearthly coach the graphs are much different for those players who don't play compared to those who do.
I don't even bother noting talent any more.

It seems pretty pointless to me, although some players look more talented than others in a game and when they come out they do tend to be.
The leagues are more interesting than trying to arrange junior friendlies so on that side they are worth it, though being in the Junior Premiership doesn't mean my junior team is any good.
The main problem with the youth system isnt the leagues, it is the see saw nature of youth player skill levels for the first 10-20 weeks of their tenure. Makes it pointless to monitor talent unless they are a 30+ week youth player

One more thing on the plus side of Junior League games is the revenue.. Ev ery home game nets me from 4k to 6k revenue which is helpful.
I agree its total chuff. Personaly i get why people like the suprises of finding out talent but i cant see why a transparent system that shows a players talent cant be introduced. If a player has good talent then lets see what it is, if its bad lets see what it is. Would make for traiing younger players more exciting, finding the right position for them more fun and would make the saturday morning look for new juniors joining the team hugely exciting imho
