Subject: [nt] Election - General Discussions

2012-02-06 14:50:41
Are we really only going to have one English candidate stand in the elections?

NCFC should clearly be going for the u21 role due to lack of experience and the goals he wants to achieve (but isn't because a strong candidate is already in place, I imagine).

There are 2 reasons I won't stand; lack of desktop access and the fact it doesn't matter who is at the helm, there is not enough incentive for the average user to get involved with the NT's.

honestly, who else is there? it would have been nice to have more of a choice, but if your second reason is really right for not wanting to stand, then why do we need more candidates?

To be honest i was thinking of standing, but my attempts would have been ambiguous at best with my 'lack of high level games', so maybe in a few seasons.

I would run if i had some assistance from another top manager

As long as it doesn't involve creating tactics I could maybe help.

Do not forget - there is one American refusing to run. Doesn't that count for something?

In Italy we don't like a foreign manager 'cause we have a lot of good tecnical users even if to be honest when you have too much choices you start look the speech and if in the forum he was friendly or not.
So.. you forget the goal: to have a good manager.

In your case I don't understand why you think a candidate should be English, and I start to think my candidature is not appreciate, sorry.
Please, is there any reason I don't know?

I think you should refuse to forget that you are not breaking the rules by posting in here as you are not running.
None at all, most countries would vote for someone of the same nationality. We are probably more patriotic than most so just the fact you have an Italian flag next to your name drops your chances.

Perhaps not, but the more candidates the better. The only English candidate we have standing this time around is someone who spouted a lot of barnacles the time before.

I don't envy anyone that goes for it; we just don't seem to care about the NT. I gave the reasons I don't but other countries don't have this problem so what do they do that we don't?

I love Union Jack but since I'm in Italy I cannot change it :P

i know... i was here :P

on a side note why should we care about the NT? i want it to do well, and if i see an English youth that can make it I'm willing to go out my way to buy them, but what more can you expect, or even ask from managers in England?

On one hand like you said, your community is more patriotic than most, but on the other hand you said that you don't care much about the NT, so something is wrong here..

With your patriotism you have the potential to make here a top NT (at least as in the past), i guess the only thing missing is maybe some motivation, but it's a the same in all sokker this days, but hey, don't you want to kick some French/Germans/Italians/Scottish(!?;-) asses?! (of course the nations i wrote here are just for the example..) You guys are ranked 32nd with 560 users (of course not all active) and Scotland are ranked 27th with 78 users (and not all active obviously) and you aren't motivated and don't care about the NT?!..
;-)

Being a foreigner I ever see few discussions on this forums and IMHO market also conditionate the Sokker NT patriotism: if you are not the owner of NT players, you are not so interested in.

Again only mr_gibbage, r3tarded, ermejo, Phil_Fox85, forestman, jpk030876, wdp74, kenny2009 and NCFC was really interested to the old NT elections.
If I check again maybe only the same users are interested in this one and I suppose there are more votes on this one than latest.
imann_the_noob is a vortex :P

I remember one day of 2009, ermejo wrotes me 'cause I bought Jay Veley, the best youth GK England ever had. He was 21
I spent 6.7M 'cause he was perfect. Divine Keeper and Incredibile pace, passing I cannot remember.
I was a Defender trainer and I was going to train Defense.

Ermejo wrote me one time, two times, three times... so I started to love Jay Veley and trained him in Pace.
He was the goalkeeper of NTs with 94/95 rating and when I sold him his form goes down down down.. he loves me too.

I am still in love for Jay Veley

I too do all these things. I am and always have been a huge advocate of a youth school and that will never change. I get much more pleasure training up my own youth player than i do from beating Phil Fox, for example, but i can't produce all the youths England needs!

What i'm getting at is there is not enough incentive for new teams or teams in III and IV to get a decent youth school and train their own youngsters for NT purposes. I have never bought a player because i want him to be in the NT. I have bought players that are in the NT and play games for their nation, but all this means to me is that i may end getting a surprising injury. I don't get a surprising training boost or a surprisingly appearace bonus.

I get regular e-mails from the Belgian NT manager about my striker. He has even apologised for getting him injured recently, and that he knocked Poland out of the World Cup. I've never had this with any of my other NT players! If i ever manage an NT i will absolutely make sure i e-mail every manager personally if i injure their player.

There needs to be more incentive to own and train NT players. Simple!

I did get quite annoyed when Marcano got injured and I didn't receieve any sort of communication from the manager that he'd been injured, especially with a qualifier the next day. When the only message you receive is "please update" when you've updated them the previous day you know that they don't care about the users training their players.

I've been lucky with NT players really, I've produced 4 Defs for the NT and 1 extra for the U-21's and possibly others in other positions, along with another who could play U-21 matches next season I've bought and training England players in the past and have a 19yo who looks pretty much guaranteed to play U-21 games as long as his Stamina improves.

Thing is though I got lucky by producing a youth player who sold for £500k early on, he was only formidable but had, I'd guess, no wasted skill points, but it got my attention and afterwards always wished I'd have been able to keep him and train him to the NT myself, but it can take 4/5 seasons before you produce a really talented player, convincing people to take the loss for a while in the hope they produce a really good player isn't easy.
