Subject: [nt] Election - General Discussions
I get regular e-mails from the Belgian NT manager about my striker. He has even apologised for getting him injured recently, and that he knocked Poland out of the World Cup. I've never had this with any of my other NT players! If i ever manage an NT i will absolutely make sure i e-mail every manager personally if i injure their player.
I did get quite annoyed when Marcano got injured and I didn't receieve any sort of communication from the manager that he'd been injured, especially with a qualifier the next day. When the only message you receive is "please update" when you've updated them the previous day you know that they don't care about the users training their players.
I've been lucky with NT players really, I've produced 4 Defs for the NT and 1 extra for the U-21's and possibly others in other positions, along with another who could play U-21 matches next season I've bought and training England players in the past and have a 19yo who looks pretty much guaranteed to play U-21 games as long as his Stamina improves.
Thing is though I got lucky by producing a youth player who sold for £500k early on, he was only formidable but had, I'd guess, no wasted skill points, but it got my attention and afterwards always wished I'd have been able to keep him and train him to the NT myself, but it can take 4/5 seasons before you produce a really talented player, convincing people to take the loss for a while in the hope they produce a really good player isn't easy.

None at all, most countries would vote for someone of the same nationality. We are probably more patriotic than most so just the fact you have an Italian flag next to your name drops your chances..
D'oh.. Did you get fired Capello ??
;))

Is nobody running seriously for the NT job this time then ? :/...
I think I used to email people if I injured their players as NT.
Note to self - must injure one of jimmys players if I ever manage an NT again...

I really really really want to run but its very unrealistic for me to run because of time constraints even ermejo pointed out that i only logged in like three times to the database and I only wanted to help him because I thought I had time but it didnt turn out like that.
Its a dark dark day in the days of the English NT, the lowest voter turnout in history and well the winner.
I await some glorious results and also glorious intervention in making England once again a top 10 NT side.

I can't believe so few voted, still I guess it means NCFC gets to show whether he can improve NT interest.
Fairly expected I guess, Kwast ran him close without bothering with any real attempt to win.
Feel sorry for imann_the_noob who ran a decent campaign, but could never overcome the huge issue of being Italian.

I think the fact that a foreign manager got 8 votes and was so close to winning says it all really. Anyway I look forward to seeing how this goes. I still have a couple of unanswerred questions, hopefully now we will get some answers.
Well imo no strong English managers have run for the job this time around, the U21 job is the one for grounding inexperienced managers imo. I for the first time did not vote for an English manager.
PS I counted ermejo as an English manager given this is his country of residence.

Agreed, based on the usual criteria for NT managers he should have got more votes than that.
I nearly didn't bother voting at all, not that it would have mattered.
Still maybe something new will spark some interest in the NT scene whether it be positive or negative I get the feeling that NCFC will generate strong opinions at least.

It'll be interesting I suspect how things develop.
This election really there was no clear cut candidate. NCFC has built up a lot of resentment amongst the people that normally vote in these election which would explain high votes for people like kwast, certainly has a job on his hands to alter that.

Well 3 of the posters on here since he won election were the ones at fault for the demise of the English NT, we should feel ashamed!
Ex-NT managers are an odd bunch, always out to harm the side ;-)
Funny that I still train lots of English and future English strikers eh. I blame you and Gibbage personally. lol
