Subject: Form Blues

Still not sure how form is worked out. A player can get stuck on tragic for, well, seems like forever, and at least a couple of seasons. I just had a player go from poor to tragic this week. Another who had picked up to adequate has suddenly dropped back to unsatisfactory, and has never risen even to solid in two seasons. The amount you play a player has no apparent effect.

It seems to me that one the game has got it in for a player they are a dead duck and there's nothing you can do about it, especially older players.

Can anyone give me a more accurate view?

It's random. People have theories about players liking certain games or certain positions to be played in, but not sure if they can be believed.

Raising form does typically happen when you sell a player too.

Random is fine, but why does bad form last so long?

My theory is that staff influence form, but any player has a seasonal range.

Can you check the England Newbie section where I bumped a old "form discussion thread" where there are many ideas to implement and got the form improved?? I found different players require different things and many of these things are stated in that thread.

Not convinced it is a newbie question or that there is one simple solution.

I have had wingers out of form for seasons / others stuck in high form. The formula seems bugged so that it tends towards the extremes & once its there it can get stuck for a long time.

Simplest solution is to play the player as much as possible, doesn't seem to work everytime, but I have noted that if you don't play players their form drops so it makes sense.

Can you check out the thread I bumped in the Newbie section Phil?? Though its in the newbie section the discussion involves a lot of old and experienced users...
