Some basic stuff to change in the future:
- Your throw-in cover in the defensive sectors was quite bad.
- The 3 mids played too low, you should let them go higher and not go so much down and so close to your own area, if you have 8 players inside the area it dosn't mean you are covering your opponent strikers, it's just gives your opponent mids (and winger) more space to send the ball to the striker and in NT level with divine passers you will get crushed..
- Back to the defensive line, taking them down inside your own area so fast is also bad, it's better they will go forward or play a low-running high defensive line and not play it so deep and so static, you are just giving your opponent a chance after chance this way.

An example here:

Of course there are more styles and ways to play it, like a more aggresive defense line that goes higher, closer what Imann showed, just the idea of it...

- The red card didn't change much at all.. it was just a matter of how many goals they will score even before that, just too many chances for them and fixing your way of defending in this levels will sure help that..
;-)

Good luck in the future matches mate
:-)

That's great - thank you. I will work on my tactics

Next England match looming large - I have a new 1st tactic ready & now working on tactic 2

Would be so proud to win the next match - as our opponents are very strong, so it will be a tough match to win

Any new advice or help with tactics would be very much appreciated

Bensted!

Terry Bensted, age 30 = injury: (26 days)

I wish I could pick him - that's a nasty injury

Oh, bugger!

Haylock!
2012-02-24 08:53:47
Haylock is certainly in contention for a place

Revised tactic & formation going to be in place for the next match - along with a 2nd tactic should things not go according to plan. Again 8 players not available for selection due to injury or suspension. A few new faces will be in the squad as we freshen things up a bit after the heavy defeat by France

Hoping things improve on the pitch this week – I have tried to adopt the improvements suggested by Managers both with the tactics & subs

Staff announcements will have to be put back 1 week - due to a new wood burner being fitted in my dining room & taking up loads more time than expected, & the wife nagging a bit (well a quite a lot tbh)

Delighted to get in a lucky win

They had 2 sent off - which certainly changed the match

Still - it's 3 points on the boards & I'm very happy with that

Any comments to help improve the tactics would be very welcome

5 England squad places up for grabs

To give an idea of the quality we need to add to the squad - I will give an indication in match marks

GK = 88+
Def = 60+
Mid = 64+
Att = 64+

3 consecutive match marks equal to or above the requirements - please let me know

I am also keen to find younger players & get them involved in the England set-up. So if you have a player that is younger than 25, & is heading towards the requirements - please again let me know

Next week I will announce the staff responsible for each position - so we can then monitor (& publish) the progress of all the younger players who could be the England stars of the future

Any clarification of the above - please feel free to mail me at any time or post here

Thank you

I think the main thing you need to look at is playing the defence higher (and generally being further forward elsewhere too). Without looking in depth, the average position of Sear is probably around about where the main defensive line should be.

Still, 3 points on the board so overall unimportant but that game could easily have been lost.

Yep I concur that the def-mid -att was still to far apart, so it was not easy for the players to make passes to support each other

I am still worried about giving away 1 on 1 goals with the defence too high - but it's certainly a learning curve I need to get to grips with

The win today was good for my morale

The def dropping into the box as they came down the wing was scary, it allowed their striker into the box early. Lucky the keeper is superb, close up headers like their striker was getting normally produce goals. Keep the def line out of the box except for corners.

Yep - I understand that now

I am trying to keep the defence higher & hold their positions - the bottom 2 squares at each corner of the tactical pitch, with corners & throw-ins may need players in the box?

Next match is a cruncher v's USA

2nd place in the group is my target for England this season - but I expect the USA has the same ambition

I have adjusted the tactics & hope we are more sound in defence - as the USA certainly pose a massive threat up front

Another update later today - after checking all the players fitness & the tactics/orders
