Ann you can always spend money if you want... Trust me!!!!

Oh, I do spend money - I lose a fortune each week, I just happen to make more than I lose by selling my trainees..

Have you seen any top 16 or 17 yr old English trainee strikers on the list in recent times? If there had been I might bought them.

I currently have three players in the U21 squad and I pay my coaches £136k a week to train them and my other English players.

If anything, the fact that I have £34m should encourage those managers you mention who have no cash, as most of that came from selling players that came from my youth squad. I don't think money has much to do with motivational levels in the game at the moment.

A change for the better would be most welcome.

I assume you trained up your youth pulls to make that money. Good work :)

Yup.. And along the way England may well have benefited to some degree..

Transfers income: 98 125 288 £ average 346 733 £ (283 of sales)
Transfers expenses: 29 737 511 £ average 362 653 £ (82 of purchases)

profit/loss: 68 387 777 £

without you we would be screwed next season for strikers ;)

lol - DJ have you got £34m to burn?

Just saying - that the boasters of wealth need to do a hell-of-a-lot more to support England

The active Managers at the bottom of the pile - will remain at the bottom of the pile sadly, & then just quit the game

Sokker needs to change & promote more wealth share

Just an honest opinion from me

No to be honest - I have not seen any top 16/17 English trainees (not even looked, as I have very little cash to spend)

Good to see you have 3 U21 players - well done you

However - your success is very unlikely to inspire Clubs with no/little cash to stay in Sokker & do well

Cash is still King in Sokker (I hope that changes)

I suppose success can be measured in various ways - I am in Div IV currently, after all..

We all set our own goals. Mine is to be as successful as I can with an entirely homegrown squad (currently 20 of my 22 players are from my youth team). Someone else might want to win the Premiership, or get a player into the England team. Not all goals require huge amounts of cash.

It is certainly nice to have money, but I personally always enjoy the penny-pinching early days in the games I play more than I enjoy the cash-to-splash times. Different in RL of course..

Totally agree with that last paragraph.

I forgot to set my line-up in my friendly today for the third time this season. This was not helped by joining an international friendly league where the games kick off early (last time I do) but the motivation just isn't there any more.

I think what eirikr, Kipper(?) and some other managers do which is go for all-English affairs or better still, youth school only. I have less than £500k in the bank and think I will do the same shortly.

Anybody got any other interesting suggestions as opposed to that and the usual buy 22 16yo's? Something nobody has done. Comical ideas acceptable.

I've always tried to go for youth school only on trainees. Currently only got 1 non youth school trainee out of my 10. Not an easy thing to do though and you do sometimes have to take on players that you wouldn't do normally.

I spent about 10 seasons with English only lineup. Helped England but caused me big challenges. If you do something like that then you need time on your hands as for example English keepers of Orem quality don't come about often. I didn't have time so had to proactively chase and wasted a lot of money...

Other ideas:

- all English
- Go for a "mega team" of 29yos just to see how good your team could be...

Rest of post coming below due to crap sokker iPhone compatibility....

- team of specific names eg:
- all same surname
- all same first name
- theme eg animals, colours
- real world England football team (eg shearer, Robeson, Gascogne etc.)

Etcetera. All stupid but an idea anyhow...

For a mega team best on age vs £ would probably be 30. Proper decline doesn't tend to start hitting until 32 and players are way past their best by 34.

You are only in Div IV because you want to be there

You clearly have the cash to compete in Div I - but that is your choice not to do so

My post was about loads of cash (£34m) & the Clubs having no idea what to spend it on

England user numbers are declining - England NT is struggling - the wealthy top-level Managers in England posting about their wealth gets my goat

Sokker England needs some/loads of support from the top

Just my opinion - no problems if anyone disagrees
