Subject: [NT] Lorre

Hello everyone. After ages as a NT coach for Norway (started sept. 08 that makes 12th season now)I would like a new challenge, so I decided to run for the NT coach position in England. Most of you don't know me so here`s a speech with info about me and my experience as a sokker manager.

My RL name is Petter, i'm 39 years old. Educated carpenter and nurse/healt worker, currently working at a psyciatric security section. Wife and three kids, boys 10,8 and girl 4 yo. As a lot of norwegians I grew up with english football on TV and have been a fan of english football and Wimbledon in particular since 1984. Now of course being a fan of AFC Wimbledon. Joined Sokker 11 july 2006, know the game well, now finishing my job as NT coach for Norway.

Here is a short presentation of my performances as NT Coach:
I started out as an Norway NT assistant for former NT coach Furulund, handling the unofficial u21 team and scouting.(not official u21 games/WC at the time)
When Furulund decided to step back I took over in september 2008, ranked 37 Norway needed to climb the ranks to get a fair chance to qualify for the World cup. Took some time to adjust to the tactic skills at NT level but progressed to the top 32, and then slowly climbing towards top 16. Have been inside the top 16 before the last 2 WCQs and at best ranked 8 earlier this season. (Slipped down the last few weeks, partly due to playing a lot of u26 games. Norway have no world class u26 strikers, costs us in tight games) Have qualified for the world cup several times, progressing from the group stages three times, first time in group with Suomi, Italy & Eesti, later in group with Israel, Croatia and Srbija (in the latter progressed to QF but failed 0-1 vs France. This season progressed from group with Italy, Portugal and Sweden but knocked out 0-1 in a close game vs Brazil in the first knock-out round.

As a tactician I adjust fairly well with the ME changes and opponent style of play, comfortable playing a low/high defence and attacking through the middle or wide. For every game I will try to find the best formation based on the players available and type of opposition. Obviously one wants to win every match and find the best way to do that.
Would be fun to get the chance to make some english sokker friends, I`m quite active on forums and would of course inform the community about coming games etc. on open forum and discuss game preparations/ taking advice on closed national association. Communication is for sure an important thing, having a supporting community and keeping them involved in the NT helps a lot making good results and enjoying the game.

If elected the main goal will be to improve ranking and qualify to the world cup at first try.

Tom took the NT job on last season (and so hasn't had a WC campaign), should he decide to run to get a stab at the WC, what reason should you be picked over him?

Good question. If the voters don`t want a norwegian NT coach I guess I`m out of luck. There`s a first time for everything they say, and Capello has been RL England NT coach :-)

I think I will be more active on forums (though I don`t know how active he has been on association.) I don`t want to critizize the work he has done.
I think I can qualify England to WC and improve ranking.

At the moment England is playing rubbish and its position in ranking is worse than poor so you have my vote.

0-6 with Serbia should be enough.

It is like you do not like other candidates to write at u21 your favourite candidate forum but you do that same at adult forum.

You are just poor creature...

After so many seasons in Norway... man, i think you managed them for.. 20 seasons or so?..

England have been sliding down the continued to slide down the NT rankings for a long period.

Our last two games have been 6-0 defeats to Serbia & Scotland.

What would you do this season that previous manager haven't to turn around the decline?

What ranking do you think England could / should be under a top manager & do you think your able to achieve this?

1. Getting a overview of players who can be useful for the NT squad, their skills and when/where they should be used. Prepare well for every game, different opponent may need different tactic approach.
2. England should be in the top 20, could even enter the top 10 but that would obviously take some time. I think I can achieve that, may be harder to get elected ;)

A strong candidate, should give the English guys a run for their money.

Will you focus the nt on results, to boost our ranking etc or focus on future players?

I would believe that both options can have equal focus. A coach is always measured on the results, the next game will always be the most important one. Most qualification/ all championship games should be played with best team available and most friendly games with age agreements like u23/u24/u25etc. I believe it`s possible to be competetive and keep track of future players.
