Yes, always nice to beat Scotland :-)

With strus in charge of Scotland, it's a miracle we only lost 2-1.

maybe with another coach (me) was better.

:D

The u21 lost the "must win" game vs Moldova tonight that could keep the world cup dream alive.
Tomorrow the senior NT have a u27 clash vs France. We`ll be missing the banned Duffield and a couple of low form strikers but apart from that we are fielding a strong team.

Watch the friendly vs France saturday via the link at TV studio:

a small comment for Under21.
is a very difficult group, the only team to beat was the ecuador, however there has been a failure.
a pity for England which is one national ambition

We drew 1-1 in an exciting game today. Quite happy to get a draw as I think they were the better side but Huntley was awesome between the sticks. The french strikers were immense and a constant threat trough the whole game, top class defenders Flint & Watcham worked their asses off trying to keep them at bay.

Their strikers do look pretty tasty..

Decent result, but all seems a little deflating after the WC campaign ;)

That's pretty much my thought too. When does the next WC competition begin? I do appreciate the current WC hasn't finished yet though.

Btw, what's the best England have ever done?
Ignore that, it appears a Silver and 3 Bronze is our current tally. Finishing 2nd is quite an achievement though considering the resources at our disposal, I was just wondering who was managing when we came so close to glory?

At very early stages I think Gibbage won a bronze or two, philfox might be the man behind the silver? At that time England were a bigger nation both when it comes to usernumbers and topclass players. England were pretty fast out of the startblocks when sokker was born and had a headstart on quality players among a few other. Poland of course were then miles ahead of everyone, and crushed everyone. We still seem to be losing users and is soon a midget nation when it comes to active managers. However if we can can be awesome at training english players, get talented youngsters out of the junior schools we might be amongst the very best again. On a good day I think we can beat anyone, but to go all the way to semifinals/final one would need a certain amount of luck aswell :)

Medals is not close to glory, it is glory ;)

Coming second is nowhere in my book ;-)

In the first world cup I got bronze (narrowly losing 3-2 to Italy in the semi finals). Phil won bronze twice with two semi final appearances and the honour of the silver goes to jpk of AFC Bramford Lane. In them days though it was all about avoiding Poland as they were unbeatable then. They still have the best squad now but the difference is a lot smaller than it used to be.

England were pretty fast out of the startblocks when sokker was born and had a headstart on quality players among a few other.

I think at one point at least half the players in the England squad were either in or from mine and forestman's team!

I might have got to the final with USA.

All a bit blurry now, if someone was confident enough & told me I won nothing, (medals - I know I was never champ before you state the obvious!!) I would probably believe it

You definately didn't win anything.

those were the days.

England team full of my players.
Phil not winning.
And forums full of banter from long left members.

The good old days were the best days. To think I completely dominated for 5 seasons with I think 8/10 trophies during that time period. Won 3 prems since that era over a much larger portion of the season.
