We are putting out an entire b-team vs Lietuva. Next week the qualifiers start with a extremely important game against France so we need to minimize the risk for suspensions & injuries. Will be a tough task but we need to have all key players available next week.

We are playing England U20 VS Ireland U21 so it's tricky :)

Thats a suicidal pact for you. Try to avoid handicap games, especially as you probably don`t know the standard of the english 20 yos. yet...

We will win by 3 at least...I hope!...we have to prepare our U20 for next season anyways and I found out we have some very interesting prospects ;)

Don't be too downbeat qstarw, it's just the first game of your reign.

Having watched the match, it could be argued you were rather unfortunate though. We had 4 great chances in the first half of which we really should have scored a couple of goals. Our forwards let you down badly there. Also, in the first half the Irish didn't have a chance and our goalie's first save came after about 41/42 mins from a very long range effort which he was never going to score with. We simply weren't troubled.

At the start of the second half, they got a very fortunate goal to take the lead. Then we managed to miss a penalty too !?! :-(

Of the other 4 goals they scored, one was simply a huge punt up the field of which our goalie really should have collected but he clearly has no pace so we really need to find a much better all-round keeper!

So all-in-all, we well beaten in the end but given a different rub of the green that easily could have been a different result.

All the best for the future games.

Regards,
Troy

Good luck Lorre!

Thanks Troy!
I must say that I did some mistakes in this match (allowing the U20 pact, playing a goalie that I have no idea what his skills are...and so on). I wanted to play this goalie for that NT protection...if his team gets an owner he goes to the TL (I hope it will happen soon because he should be divine GK with low pace). The tactics ware OK but as I said on the association thread we have stamina issues (look at the difference between 1st and second half).
Now more people answered the tons of messages I sent them about players and found a quite promising U20 defender.
I'm not looking for excuses because I assume this defeat entirely but its hard to update the players that for months now have not been looked after...I did not think it would be so hard to get people to submit the players skills (its their interest also).
The main problem we have (however) is training...some of our promising players are not getting the training they need and that is what I will try to fix in the future (but its hard as heck).
About our strikers ...we had better (and def) but they had injuries or hopeless stamina, or have not been updated (I played some players based on the skills I found in the database and on the form of the player...because this Osokker not working gave me quite a headache.)

All I can say after all this is that I have a lot to do to catch up on the players skills in the database, and that I am sorry we did not start the season with a win!

Qstarw & u21 will be fine, when the players get sorted out the wins will come :-) I`m sure he`s running like a squirrel in every corner of the sokkerworld scouting (^_^)

The senior NT managed to beat group favorites France 3-2 in the first game of the wcq. It was a tight and entertaining game and I`m very happy we drew the longest straw today. It is a tough wcq group with many teams that will nick points of eachother. Besides England and France - Australia, Equador & Indonesia are capable of ratings around 75 on a good day and fight to progress to the World Cup.

Nice one Lorre ...really enjoyed the game!

Excellent start :-)

I hope the time will come when a quality U21 Coach get's elected

Dazza & the current incumbent are not what England U21 needs at all

Looking forward to the day - when Sokker England has once again 2 x English Coaches of a high calibre running our National Teams

England has the quality required to be a great Nation in Sokker – but sadly lack the desire & effort

I seem to remember you being the most vocal person about getting new people into the NT scene, doesn't this post go against all of what you said before?
