Keep at it, you'll get there eventually. We just need to go on a winning run and that will take us back into contention. Given a fair crack of the (luck) whip would certainly help our chances too and that will turn at some point so not all lost yet :-)

Yet another drawback, Warren Simons is with a banned team... i so nearly brought him and forgot earlier this season..

*Double whammy, he isnt playing, he's on the bench :( so another England U21 player bites the dust and this 1 was a starter (won't be good enough now) Blackshaw, Cunliffe & now Simons.

Is there anything we can do? (at end of last season i capped a player i was lead to the understanding he would go on the transfer list therefore leaving the banned club he was with, 'Forge' i think his name was, but he never left the club after i capped him)

Can everyone stop getting banned (in the theme of lockstock & 2 smoking barrels :)

Tough match for the U21 tonight not as easy as it seams. Experienced manager at Al Maghrib U21. Considering our team problems... its a tough one.

Good luck Mansid.

Congrats Lorre :-)

We're through to the last 8. We rode our luck at times but it would have been a real sickener if we hadn't gone through after leading 2-0 !

A message to me from the above user who dos'nt mind being named (tcd_uk) & i feel this is proberly the nail on the head to explain our U21's plight.

The problem is the system. People who can train your players properly aren't doing so as U21s aren't any good for the people in the Premiership. So they train Pace all the way up and that's no good for U21 matches.
These players are about right at 23/24yo which is 2 to 3 seasons too late. That's probably why the NT is still doing ok. That is also your 2nd problem. People see the NT doing ok and just expect that the U21s should be doing the same without thinking why that isn't the case. (end of tcd's message)

We must direct our efforts towards relieving the plight.

There's also the added problem with many do not even have a junior school open or care for it, but low user countries get better teams than us because they all club together so why can't we?

You have to be lucky sometimes. Will still be in the away half but no easy games at this point of the WC.

Pretty much true. If you look at the average age of a top 4 prem side compared to what you get in II / III it is a fair amount higher for those actively running their teams. I'm topping the table with an average age of 28.3. You top your II with 24.0.

I actually think the user numbers in England are relatively false. There are reasonable numbers sides either relatively dis-interested or just badly run teams.

So maybe we try to sell our players from the premier to the division 2 teams? might be 1 way of doing it (i no this just is'nt possible at the rate we need but at least we could put the % more in our favour alerting the right teams that would train that player for sale well)

*I'm only average age 24 this week cos i got a 33yo to cover for my injured 25yo keeper :)

Well I have to disagree my team's age has always been around 22 years old but still I've never had a key player for the U21. Most of the players we had at U21 ware either bought by users that train a certain position just because they ware English (and most of the time they overpaid just to help the NT), or trained by non English users. Very rarely we get the talent and keep him from beginning till the end (Bensted). But the age of the first team is not the problem is the second team. I have made several posts about this second team... How to keep a flow of players running from second towards first team.

Our problem is in the teams that are poorly managed, in teams that just do not want to train any position and have a squad of 40 players of over 27 years olds. But this we can not change. I think we should concentrate more on what we have instead of trying to fix things that are not up to us to fix. We have a few good English player trainers...there are also some good non English users that train our players and we should try to get the most out of it...then move on to fixing other problems.

Also ...if there is any consolation loads of countries are going trough this lack of users and juniors... concentrate on getting your friends on joining and if we just get 5-10 good users that get into this game...we can be WC champs.

We've tried all this Q, has'nt worked mate. new users would'nt have the capabilities to train well for a while either.

I trained Kirk Vale all the way from 18yo-28yo and i have 3 in my team good enough next season for the U21's.

Summerfield will be a big player in 2 seasons and play next season so you have a main player soon, i've only had 2 top England u21's myself and i've been in the game longer.

Far too many strikers as usual for 2 spots (& 2 reserve) every season, if it was a toss up between a striker and a winger we'd be better off if those 1's were a winger maybe, all these things add up.

We have no defender over Brilliant, every season we should have 2, next season we will , i am making sure of it , the owner's of those are very helpful. 1 of Our 21yo's defenders was outstanding not long ago , they both are only incredible. i did'nt want to say these things before incase the other teams looked in our forum but it dosnt really matter now, i will still be maticulous in everything i do hopeing for a miracle qualification.

Organizing & different tactics are needed, i would certainly like your organizing and English players on transfer list threads used alot more like i'm trying too, and im trying to engage more and more people to look in the forum at these threads..

On another note you will see a better England U21's next season, and we will start to go up in the rankings, i nominate this was our worst bunch of 21yo's alltime, our best player is 20yo.

Well that being said...I can easily make Summerfield a mid if you want...here are his current stats ...popped random in def:

Antony Summerfield, age 19
value: 252 000 £
wage: 2 265 £
outstanding [12] form
height: 165 cm, weight: 66.4 kg,
BMI: 24.39

very good [9] stamina hopeless [1] keeper
incredible [13] pace weak [4] defender
outstanding [12] technique excellent [10] playmaker
adequate [6] passing excellent [10] striker

No pops in striker after 3 weeks of training and I switched it as could not wait for him to get round my training plans :))... back to our subject.

If I train defender a bit and passing ....then playmaker he would be good as a mid :))...let me know as I quite not fancy training the striker skill :)
2014-12-28 20:05:31
Yes i like that! but i would love it if you could train mostly passing for a while to get him to excellent as quick as possible, i'd want a wingers passing to be outstanding really, but he will be brilliant at pace i reckon by next season so that kinda outweighs that if he gets to excellent passing.

I'd like it more if you forget the defender and rely on a that getting to average on it's own.... (maybe when he is excell def. train some defence?)

I would play him higher up for the U21's and if we get his striker to outstanding over time he could be the 2nd striker somtimes also, all this gives us more options to play different tactics.

Have to say i am suprised he is still excellent striker, but glad we have other 19yo strikers so it dos'nt matter in the slighest in fact it's worked out great..
