yes I know that Mansid have all those players under control and monitored.

What I meant in my answer to tcd's consern regarding players abroad is:

Step 1) Spot abroad players who might be significant and able to become future "NT stars"
(That was a tool I showed how it COULD be done)

Step 2) Compare these players with NTDB - are there players that NEVER or LONG AGO were updated?
Then you have to Contact their owners, ask for their status today etc.

so there's more steps to do Before you can have all players under your control.
Then are of course (at least in Sweden) owners that don't log in or for reasons don't want their players play in the NT.
I have started to mapping "all" Swedish players and getting a real nice database (I use MS Access for this) now, it's a hell of work but damn fun! :)

is there any staff dedicated to the db?

After a long discussion in the Italian community they decided to create a staff for the NTDB with people who are not directly involved with the NT Manager(s) but permanents. This assured a continuous scouting of players with a proper methodology.
After a couple of seasons they start having good results, this year with a good manager they reach the WC final loosing against Romania.

Only thing is, you can justify that for Italy for a much, much bigger country. For England with as many users as there is, it's harder to justify lots of different people.

What you meant to say was, "it was unlikely that you could find lots of different people to help" ;-)

Probably that aswell.

If the rate of people ultra enthusastic for NT work is about 1%, it means we have 1 person in England, Italy can draw on 14, which is why so many of them then go to other NTs. There are quite a lot of Italian users who have gone on to do well with NTs. There are probably some who have done badly but don't pay a lot of attention to that.

I think there are more benefits in a small NT and at the same time lower effort comparing to Italy, so one/two persons are ok. The main idea is that there is a DB "admin" who works for the NTs and NT Manager could think only of tactic, spy opponents and choose the best players from the DB.

as tcd and mr g say there isnt as much passion in the english leagues as before, i hear people playing longer than me saying how good it was and we had more teams over the 4 leagues. Its getting to the point that more top teams are trying to play with younger players/or their own youth to make it more challenging. I personally dont know what can be done to change that for either the current managers or future ones. :(

The English Managers need to start taking our forum back - we have great English Sokker Managers, but perhaps they just need a bit of enthusiasm & nudging to get involved with an English revolution

The negative posts from non English Managers towards our elected U20 Coach have not been welcome

England has enough talent to look after itself - we just need to pull together, & make a cunning plan for our development

agree, I felt pity for mansid :/

I hope it's OK for a NICE non English manager (a.k.a. lilltrollet ;) to join your forums? :)

It's fine with me, but anyway, we can't actually stop you from posting ;-)

haha just tell me if I write to much rubbish and I will ban myself for some weeks :)

Back to topic,
I Think your U21 did a great match vs Hungary last week and mansid should get some cred for a well done match! my "gut-feeling" tells me that you might win tonight vs Azərbaycan even though they are superior and a much better team
